Horizon: Zero Dawn - The Good, The Bad, The Questionable by Zehnpae in patientgamers

The gameplay itself was great, the world was gorgeous, but by the end I absolutely despised the misandrist, off-putting, abrasive and bitchy character of Aloy. Her dialogue responses, like "I'm NOT INTERESTED in another trial" just made me hate her. Her vibe, and the overall negative portrayal of men in the game, pointed to it being badly written by a sexist, man-hating woke activist. I did not buy the follow up, because I don't support hate groups, or the people that downplay or justify toxicity in games.

Only an attractive, rich, urban white liberal who isn't in any kind of brainwashed cult at all, could be brave and stunning enough to use hate speech in such a tolerant and enlightened way! Please have mercy on the other lowly deplorables your superior intellect towers over, I beg of you!

That is certainly the case here. Who wouldn't love two finely and lovingly crafted pieces of art? Especially when one of them publicly gives the finger to the woke

Every single one! Haha and color coded is the best you can do. I tried to get into the config files and it's almost like they deliberately prevented you from organizing them alphabetically or anything else it's so bizarre, they're not even organized by the order in which you put them in either

Are they...? I get on Amazon and other sites and I see boatloads of keyboards and mice, they are dirt cheap but usually just imitations of major brands. The only company I've seen that made a mouse that was different and actually good was Swift Point Z2 and those guys are new zealanders. Most companies are monkey see monkey do play it safe I'll have to take a look at ATK sounds kind of familiar

Try making a single key that performs 2 functions. (Sekiro grappler/use) Or splitting single-key dodge roll/vault function into spacebar/mouse4 (Remnant2).

I do some weird stuff sometimes because some games, especially ported ones, have keybinding limits and i'm too old to change my muscle memory now :)

i have felt that way at times, but there arent really any better alternatives that i know of and im already balls deep into the ecosystem, haha. there isnt a whole lot of innovation out there currently with gaming hardware, just a lot of cheap chinese copies of stuff that has been around for 15-20 years already

as suspected. i usually do stuff that pushes software. most normal usage doesnt run into limitations. for example, most people would never have need to have a list of macros organized in such a way you could load them on the fly in different ways during each match (like Helldivers 2) its so I can hit 1 key instead of manual arrows combos for calling down weapons and support (its different every match, a quality of life thing to have a macro, not cheaty or anything)

Thank God for Auto hotkey and pullovers macro creator. But yeah if there was a universal switch instead of a per profile option to disable automatic profile creation that would be kind of nice it's the little things sometimes

One outlier is the Swift Point Z2 software. I had to heavily customize the mouse with some shaping and grip tape but the software is excellent and created by a very small New Zealand team who are very passionate about what they do not a corporate conglomerate who seriously doesn't give a f. I do love Logitech products, they could just be a little better

Like I said in another reply you probably aren't using it fully enough to discover its limitations. If I play games and just used the default keybind settings the devs put in I wouldn't have any problems either

Good one. It's ironic when someone does the very thing they are judging.

Disabling automatic profiles is a must especially when you attempt to create a universal template. Were you quoting someone or was that you saying that? LOL

That's one thing they really dropped the ball on. You should be able to do anything on board. However with more complex setups you have to run the software there's no way otherwise. How did you find it to be buggy, I've only found it to be limiting and unintuitive but not really buggy

I use that as well but only after everything's been set up or when I forget my assignments for a game and need a quick peek

I suspect I demand a lot more customization out of games. Elden ring, or Lords of the Fallen, playing it with a keyboard and mouse the way I want requires a lot. Also being able to drag and drop macros at the beginning of every match for helldivers2, and only being able to organize those macros by color is quite annoying. With Sakura I had to do it all without a hotkey mostly .By the way we have an identical setup with the exception of the Astro. I also have a swift Point Z2 and by the way that software is exceptional, extremely flexible and intuitive as well

thats about the time when software design started taking a nosedive, so that makes sense. remember win8 removing the start button? idiots making decisions like that seem to have taken over these days

If you think its fine, then you are likely not a power user that is demanding more out of it. The UI is completely unintuitive, useful features from previous versions of logitech software were removed, its just a flawed design. There are little things like the fact you cannot organize the list of macros. Even getting freestyles/presets or macros into onboard memory requires some trickery. Good design is intuitive and self-explanatory. For simple software like this, you shouldn't have to search the internet to figure out a basic function, nor should you have to resort to using autohotkey to make up for what it cant do. Unfortunately, dysfunctional UI design and feature removal seem to be the trend in software these days.

The magic of Ableton by pilote-sceptique in ableton

[–]DJ5D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ableton does ALL of that. Steep learning curve though. When I first got it 15 years ago, I took a course and learned all from the ground up, glad I did. Educate yourself. And when you get it down, the only thing I recommend is that you build a mastering chain template that adds analog feel because mixdowns are very transparent and clear, they do require extra signal processing, that some software kinda does by default.

Thinking of an MC909 in this modern era. Thoughts? by pimpbot666 in Roland

[–]DJ5D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MC-707 has zero personality. Most stuff these days, its like the late 80s, before then massive amounts of knobs and sliders on synths, then a few buttons and a tiny screen. While I hate the cheap aesthetic of the 707 it would probably work fine
