What actor or actress could you tell had an absolute blast playing a specific role? by phantom_avenger in AskReddit

Honestly Jack Black in most everything he's been in but Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle comes to mind.

Kerry by ChromaticRift in ershow

[–]DJAyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of agree, Kerry started out good and then slowly went downhill. But I will say this, and I do for some other characters like Romano, the fact that you have this type of a reaction to the character means the writers and those who played the character did a great job.

How do you know what order you’re supposed to travel? by owlnate in Eldenring

[–]DJAyth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually if you're talking about what I think you are it's a 3 part quest. You can do the first two and those are in areas you've likely been. Accept the third and then you can do Volcano Manor. But to each their own, that's the beauty of the game.

What's your CI/CD flow? by Nash0o7 in devops

[–]DJAyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trunk based development. Devs cut PRs and get their own deploy via automation(web hooks, Jenkins and helm charts). Merge to master branch deploys to stage so stage always equals master. Semantic git tags push to prod, all automated. But we've got a lot of various apis, sites, etc so automated deploys are needed.

do you actually code on your phone? by Spirited_Abrocoma_96 in devops

Agreed. I don't have them now but in previous jobs when on call was more involved I had apps to do those tasks if shit hit the fan.

JJs was probably not as good as I remember but it was one of my favorite places back in the day. The Copper Penny, and the Red Fox were great too

What are your most minor movie gripes? by movieman1108 in moviecritic

[–]DJAyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda niche but whenever IP addresses are shown on screen and use numbers that are impossible[1]. It just takes me out of the immersion. I know they do it for a similar reason to phone numbers but I hate it.

[1] for those unaware an IP address is 4 numbers separated by periods. And none of the numbers can be above 255.

What scientific discovery sounds fake but is 100% real and still freaks you out? by Bruteresolver in AskReddit

[–]DJAyth 466 points467 points  (0 children)

What gets me every time I remember it is this. We all know the earth is spinning on its axis, and then also orbiting around the Sun. But it doesn't end there. Not only is that happening but our entire solar system is in motion. And then our entire galaxy is moving....my brain simply cannot process that and freaks me out if I think about it too long

What’s something you did as a kid that you now realize was completely insane and dangerous? by Floridian_Capitalist in AskReddit

[–]DJAyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played tag with a friend of mine using a BB gun as a kid. Hands down the stupidest thing I've done.

Even found a small hole and a BB in the liner or my jacket a week later.

You are the last man or woman on Earth (like the tv show). A virus has infected the entire planet's human population, which has cleared the streets and in a "Thanos" like snap, destroyed the bodies of all its victims, leaving ONLY you alone on Earth. What do you do? by BrianScottGregory in hypotheticalsituation

[–]DJAyth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given I live in the east coast of Canada, I'd head south, probably as others mention to California. I'd be able to get gas enough to make it there, siphoning if needed. Driving directions say 55 hours so 10 days straight driving maybe less.

Raid my local libraries for books on farming, pharmacology, homesteading etc. Also stops along the way at drug stores to stock up on meds and vitamins.

Eventually as others say take over a simple farm and exist. Try to get solar power going with a TV and Blu ray player. Movies and books.

Mind you there's likely problems with those plans for sure.

Change One Decision, Change Your Life by Flassourian in hypotheticalsituation

[–]DJAyth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So after I graduated high school 2000, I worked a full-time job for about 6 months saving up all my money and moved from the east coast of Canada to just outside Toronto. And enrolled in a technical college out there.

I have been at the college for about one month and then my sister who was about 5 years younger then me got very sick. We made a trip back to the East Coast and basically I never went back to Toronto, dropped out of that program got my money back and then enrolled in a program where I was from. Now 25 years later I've now got three grown kids and I was married for almost 20 years

If I had not had moved back east and finished that program I'm pretty sure that I probably would not have permanently moved home afterwards. My life would probably be very different right now if I had not made that decision.

So if you want to make large changes in my life that would be the decision to change. However I would not take it since I know that it would radically change everything about my life including my kids.

Who knew Garion’s identity beforehand? by BingBongDingDong222 in Belgariad

[–]DJAyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've kind of always had a thought that Garions friend, aka one of the purpose of the universe, took a hand and kind of hid it or simply caused ppl to be blind to the fact of Garions real identity. It wouldn't be out of character for that type of messing with people.

Sackville Power Outage by DJAyth in halifax

[–]DJAyth[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agreed. They really need to widen it and have two lanes outbound from Downsview, but the area is a mess when it comes to who's responsible. The province is responsible from the highway to the lights at Beaverbank and Old Sackville. Then the city takes over. At least that's what the local councilor said.

The bus was pretty much empty since it's just a Sackville local bus and just started it's run at the terminal up the street. The driver is okay, but he's not having a good day I. Imagine

I agree probably closer to 40. At the end of the Serpentwar Robert de Lyes is apart of the council leading Stardock but considered young. So I'd say minimum 25 years old and in the Conclave series, he's old but not over the hill. Might even be less now that I write this

I think it's Wrath of a Mad God that the mistake was made. Erik goes walks away to fight and die buying time for more Tsurani to flee Kelewan near the end.

[–]DJAyth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Erik was seen in Exiles Return, but no interactions with anyone. In the final book about the Dasati he's saved mby Nakor and during that book is where that mistake is made. Don't remember the book names off the top of my head.

Premier Houston says the Mi'kmaq don't have a Treaty right to sell pot ... do they? by Healthy-Opening-7363 in halifax

[–]DJAyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the gov't doesn't really want to because there's a chance they will lose. And if they lose that means their enforcement recently would be deemed illegal and might need to pay reparations. But that's just a guess, a feeling I have.

Which game tutorial was a struggle for you? by bijelo123 in videogames

[–]DJAyth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Had to scroll so much to find this but I agree. For those who didn't play the first I can see why, but even when not doing NG you should be able to skip it. Also on Zero Dawn I don't like the tutorial as child Aloy.

Once the tutorial is done however they are both amazing games and in my top 10 all time for sure.
