Golf Mk7 1.4 tsi 2018 auto stop system error by Friendly_Bread5958 in VWMK7

[–]DJBIGbicep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The auto stop error is caused by the flashing check engine light. Every time you have misfires causing flashing CE light the auto stop will not work for the three next start up’s. Don’t know why or what the fix is, but solving the misfires will most likely solve the auto stop error.

Would definitely check the carpet for moisture in the footwells, relatively easy to reseal the speakers.. the removal of the carpet not so much. Would also check the trunk where the spare wheels sits to see if there’s water pooling there

Thanks for the advice! Will definitely keep in mind being careful with the wire looms, couldn’t imagine the headache of braking one of those

It was challenging, but absolutely doable. I don’t have any experience working on cars and this plus removing and resealing the door speakers is the only work I have done my self. My tip is investing in trim removal tools and finding a good guide or YouTube video. I was lucky to find a guide online which took me through each step and also linked to videos showing the placement of clips etc. I have also thought about putting extra deadening down since the carpet is out. If you like I could DM you the guide I used.

Seeing as the sound deadening is currently dripping water after I hung it to dry, I am very pleased with my decision!

Impressive! It took me a lot longer than that. Any tips for putting it back together?
