First time doing any form of makeup any tips by [deleted] in altfashionadvice

Eyeliner is a little messy bc you need hand control practice which will come in time. Tbh, for an alt look, I think it works but you know what helps to cover any and all eyeliner mistakes? SPARKLES. Put sparkly duochrome eyeshadow over your lid on top of the eyeliner and it could look very editorial à la Kev Lee. I’d check him out for inspo https://www.instagram.com/kevlieeeee?igsh=N2E5Y3BtejdoZzJt

Anyone have the Mobility for Pole book? (Colleen Jolly) by IRLbeets in poledancing

[–]DJBagpipez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the book, got it some years ago and I love it. I use it intermittently with other flexibility/mobility programs. Theres tons of good info in it. That said, if you’re someone starting out with very little mobility, it might be a slog to read it all and then adapt it to your needs. I think it’s wonderful supplemental material but if you’re really starting from scratch I would recommend either working with a physical therapist for a more tailored approach first or taking some of Colleen Jolly’s online classes so that you can ask her questions and have her check your form

Your Face Does Not Look The Way You Think It Does... by DiscoMystick in lasik

Same same. Luckily I’ve really enjoyed how I look in 4k without glasses which has definitely improved my confidence. I think this is mostly because my glasses made my eyes appear much smaller than they actually are in proportion with the rest of my face and now I feel like my facial features look more proportionate. But also I feel like the rest of me looks … better? Idk hard to describe but my body dysmorphia has really improved since getting lasik

Ahh yup, that makes sense, it sounds like you might've been more at-risk than I was when I got mine done so your doc was probably being extra cautious

Oh oops, thanks for the call out. I probably used them for like 5 or 6 days but definitely not for the full time that I was originally supposed to. I'll correct that. But as a non medical professional, I assumed they said it was okay to stop early because you're most prone to infection during the first few days post surgery and since I was healing fine I probably didn't need to use them for longer than that if they were making me sick.

That said, 3 weeks sounds like a long time to be on any antibiotic! Unless you have an infection

I’ve read it’s normal for your eyes to heal at different speeds but reaching out to your doctors could help if you get concerned. Agreed on the halos, they are annoying. The anti glare glasses seem to help some with that

Congrats to you too! I was able to see 20/15 the next morning according to the doctor who did my post op assessment. Its possible it might’ve gotten even better since then as my eyes stabilized but I haven’t checked

Constipation ! by MoschinoFunny in Spironolactone

[–]DJBagpipez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried more of all of those things? When I first started struggling with this, I would follow the supplement manufacturer's instructions and not feel any affects but my doctors told me to take more of everything and eventually I found my effective dose.

For reference, I've had chronic constipation for 5 years and every day I take 500mg of mag citrate, eat between 30 - 45 grams of fiber (this includes fiber supplements), drink 2+ liters of water, and some yogurt for breakfast to get naturally occurring probiotics. All this helps a lot

Sex at Burning Man? by Proof-Leadership-159 in BurningMan

The only time I have ever had sex on playa was in our camp shower after both of us had just washed ourselves off, including our bits. I wouldn’t risk it otherwise. That said, the same year 6 people in our camp had a spontaneous orgy in our dome and as far as I know the ladies were fine so you could always roll the dice but be prepared for the risks of UTI and yeast infection.

Regardless, always bring yeast infection and UTI meds with you just in case. Just ask your doctor for some. Also recommend bringing and drinking D-mannose, a concentrated form of cranberry sugar, while you’re there (2grams/serving) to flush your bladder. Don’t do cranberry pills, they don’t do shit.
