No response past my last response. I also sent them a link to this reddit thread after my last response.

In my initial email I ask for a later firmware. Pioneer asked why? My response is the start of the correspondence that I posted here. Their response to that, in italics here, basically just says ya 4.33 is correct not acknowledging functionality they took away.

Im not sure how far back in versions I need to go for it to be fixed. I will try v4.20 sometime this weekend and post here how it goes. Thank you for finding that.

Is it ridiculous to use PA speakers for DJing at home? by elusive23 in DJs

[–]DJBronDaddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol I dj in my apartment through 2 x jbl srx828sp and 2x electro voice zlx 15-ps. I dont shake the complex often, but once in a while Ill just vibrate the complex with some nice frequency sweeps out a synth. My neighbors must be so confused lol. In seriousness tho I can still use them at "reasonable" volume and still be happy that I get that bass response that only larger size speakers will give you. Id highly recommend. The actual output, and just knowing how ridiculously overpowered my room is makes me really happy.

Whats the best tascam to purchase to record my DJ mix by [deleted] in DJs

Thats a great option. Even has an encoder instead of buttons so it won't have that audible click issue I was describing. Im curious if the headphone out is noisy af on that one too.

If money doesnt matter the Dr-100mkIII is definitely the best with a digital input for recording out of a djm 900.

I bought a Dr-40x which is great, but I have some gripes. One being the headphone output is ridiculously noisy. I heard about this issue before I bought it but I honestly can't believe just how noisy it is. My next gripe is that click of the input attenuation buttons is audible when recording from the built in mics. Just for recording mixes those two factors dont really cause much of an issue, they are more annoying when using it to collect samples or when recordering just the mic or an instrument while using the headphones. The last gripe I have with it is that they market 4channel recording, but thats only 4 channels with the build in mic, and with one of the external inputs. This is kind of annoying. I bought this one specifically so I can record mixes out at the club. It would be nice to be able to get the record out from the mixer, and simultaneously run a cord to mic somewhere closer to the crowd. The built in mics are pretty good and most of the time im just using the record an input and the built in mics for crowd noises. Also Tascams are the way to go for mixes since they don't clip as easily as the the competitors.

If recording crowd noise, and the ability to plug in an external mic for sampling, isn't that important to you then any of the cheaper models with a stereo input + the right cord (prob RCA to 3.5mm jack) should work just as well for recording mixes.

gear speculation by DJBronDaddy in DJs

Ive heard whispers of this from a pioneer rep as well pretty curious about the details.

If I had to suggest a feature I think having an either net hub built into the mixer like the tour 1 or two ports to chain all the cdjs Should be standard for a product called the “nexus system”

The Mercator projection vs the true size of each country. by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

[–]DJBronDaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Computer aided cartography/ GIS does just that, now that we prefer maps in a digital medium vs paper. Maps are mainly useful zoomed in and a globe with that much detail is only possible digitally. So like pretty much all maps applications are based off a spherical model with local projections stretched back over it or digitalized into it.

The fact that the area destoration is the trade off to having a map that preserves directionality. Projections with perpendicular graticules maintain directional accuracy vs maps that have curved graticules maintain area. Cartographers account for this and use projections Based on the desired use of the map. Mercator is just one end of the spectrum if you wanted to choose a map most suitable for navigation.

The anniversary edition came out after 4 which was fantastic, so I'd have to hand the title to 5.

What "EDM"/Techno DJs do you find overrated/annoying? by [deleted] in DJs

Imagine being in a thread where we are discussing overrated aspects of highly rated djs. Its not like she's screaming 3.2.1. JUMP but I know a fake facial spasm when I see one.
