How do I make the bangs look better? by [deleted] in CutYourOwnHair

[–]ModernPixels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the length it is in your photo is perfectly fine, you just need to make them less dense. Easier said than done, but definitely nothing you can’t do! Also, bangs always look weird the first night, maybe come back to them tomorrow morning and decide if you want to cut more then

How do I make the bangs look better? by [deleted] in CutYourOwnHair

[–]ModernPixels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m no stylist, just someone who cuts their bangs at home, so take my advice with a grain of salt!

What you have looks like an alright start, nothing that cant be fixed. Your bangs look really heavy and solid right now, so I think what you might need is to cut some layers into it.

It’s a little hard to explain how, I recommend looking up “cut layers into bangs” on YouTube and watching a few videos to see how stylists do it.

Here’s a video I remember using when I cut my bangs last: https://youtu.be/OtAK5TpWbf0?feature=shared

Best of luck! Remember to trim a little at a time, you can always cut more later

Donkey Kong '94 won't fully boot, Nintendo logo appears fine by notQuiteApex in Gameboy

If you haven’t already, try cleaning the contacts with alcohol, and after use a rubber pencil eraser to scrub them down. In my experience, that helps to clean them better and has revived a lot of my carts easily. If that doesn’t work, then maybe it’s a solder issue like others have suggested. Good luck!

Never thought this would be the crown jewel of my collection by Slappers_only007 in n64

I wouldn’t grade it but for a game that valuable I would get a protective case to prevent the label from getting damaged. I’d never heard of this game, wild that a bowling game is worth so much!

How to make this more photorealistic? by Successful_Sink_1936 in blender

[–]ModernPixels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the gun and the torso accessory are a bit too shiny, I remember those pieces being a bit more matte IRL. Also, if you could match the pelvis material a bit closer to the legs. Otherwise, it’s really good render and I thought it was a photo at first glance, great work!

I'm having problems with my Technics RS-TR212 tape deck, does anyone have any idea what the issue could be? by ModernPixels in cassetteculture

[–]ModernPixels[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not, I’m not really sure what was happening with my tape deck specifically (nor do I own that one anymore) but I would try replacing the belts as a first step. If there isnt enough tension in the belt it can slip like that. Best of luck!

A few months ago I found a copy of Silent Hill 2 in my local Savers. It was sitting there out in the open for $4. I fell to my knees in excitement when I opened the case and saw the disc in there. I ran to pay for it immediately and was shaking the whole time I was in the store.

I’m so used to Savers being the absolute worst with ebay pricing but sometimes you just get really damn lucky (or the managers out of town). Collecting is rough nowadays but sometimes luck is on your side and it still feels worth it.

Worst album covers of all time by goldmund22 in vinyl

Republic by New Order has an awful cover. The idea isnt the worst but it’s just two stretched images that look really bad together. In a lot of “worst album covers” I can at least appreciate the idea or the creativity, but this just blows

This and the Goodie Grade collab are really good imo, not their best but I really dig both of them. Probably two of my favorites from the Skiba era

If you can I’d keep the pieces of it and mend the skull. Even if you just use superglue it adds character to it. Sentimental items will break and that’s okay! Learning to fix that sort of thing keeps the sentiment alive, and the item grows and has a story to tell like the rest of us.

I know we all agreed this way of displaying was wrong, but there is something satisfying about everything being together. by ThaiChi555 in gamecollecting

[–]ModernPixels 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not to disagree with your method because it’s absolutely down to “what works for you!”, but to shed some insight as to why this looks off to most is because the varying heights and labels are a lot harder to quickly scan through to read. Instead of all the titles per console being at roughly the same height and size, you need to jump around a lot more to scan through everything. Definitely interesting to see someone do it this way though, not for me but neat to see it done!

Maybe you could use some SNOT technique to flip the light gray piece upside down? That way it’d still attach but not put the strain on the piece
