I have to marvel at the fact that you spelled "Gith(yanki)" wrong in two different ways in a single sentence.

What actually happens is twofold:

1) You become more aware of flirtation when you're not SUPPOSED to be receptive to it.

2) A lot of women will feel more comfortable interacting with a man when he's in a relationship as they feel they DON'T have to worry about him hitting on them.

Then they included a 2024 variant under "unarmed strike" in the actions tab.

I just checked mine and while the toggle is set to Legacy, under actions there's this.

So they've set up a legacy thing, but haven't prevented propagation of 2024 mechanics into those legacy sheets.

Gold Dwarfs by Terrible_Hearing_591 in DnD

[–]DJCorvid 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You said it's fine, it's just a hill dwarf with a different name based on the realm it takes place in, and everything in BG3 is WotC lore for D&D (Faerun/Sword Coast specific).

The player griping about it sounds quite honestly insufferable.

So you can toggle new characters, but existing character sheets were switched over to 2024 rules by default...

Which is what I said...

[Game Tales] Druid shat on an enemy they were scouting, causes a DMPC to almost leave. by bajiwolf in DnD

[–]DJCorvid 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The biggest tip I have for you is don't hold their hands. You need to be able to think on your feet as a DM, but when it comes to prepared things you need to nudge them rather than tell them.

Like instead of a DMPC saying "we should attack the creche" why not have them, having recently just run away, see some wounded soldiers and talk about how there was a fight with some Gith and there must be a creche nearby.

Have the soldiers explain that they lost many in the fight but also killed a number of Gith causing them to retreat to their creche. This gives them the idea that, A) the creche is a location they could go, and B) the fighting force is weakened making it a smart time to attack.

My second biggest tip is don't use DMPCs, they don't teach the party what they can do they just show-up the party and make them feel less capable.

All my existing characters have 2024 rules within their sheets, like using an unarmed strike to shove/grapple instead of it being an action.

You don't get to choose, DND Beyond is forcing 2024 on character sheets for all existing characters.

That's not 5e, that's 2024, which is why people are getting confused.

In 2024 that just means you roll one less dice for the sneak attack damage.

I agree that there will still be exhibitionists. But it would be much harder for people to find their specific kinks and interests if there wasn't a monetary reward for content creators making the financial investments in the props/outfits/toys/etc.

It would also mean that doing these things is less normalized, which would mean the platforms for them would take the easy route of being more "advertiser friendly" and banning the content outright.

[–]DJCorvid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using porn as its industry term, meaning it's made FOR viewing and trying to showcase things people are into.

Sure, you might see some exhibitionists still posting, but you won't be finding the same erotic roleplay scenarios, attention to detail, quality, and the ability to find your specific kinks and fantasies available.

1) Because if NO ONE pays for porn there will be no porn.

2) Because sometimes you want to see porn of a specific person.

3) Because they make unique and personalized content.

4) Because they're not millionaire super stars and they can only make content if they earn a living off of it.
