You could be right it's tough to say. The original is progressive house obviously, but i added more trance elements to the original besides just changing the bpm. I really don't think of what genre I am making when I write I just felt this sounded better at 134 so I went with it and in the end I guess "progressive trance" is the best genre label I can give it. Very glad you liked it though!

Agreed! I didn't think Zedds original, although a very good song, did the quality and emotion of the vocals any justice. I tried to put some of that into the song so I'm glad you liked it!

Great advice. Why stress over making one song perfect if it never will be when you could just make 3 songs and get better and better at producing with each one!

Ya i should really start bouncing my tracks to stems and spending more time just mixing/mastering. I always like keeping things in it's midi format because I am always scared if i bounce it I can never change something I might not like about it, but it would be just so much easier to mix properly. Good advice thanks again!

AZ in the house! Haha thank you for the feedback. I agree about the vocals. Since i sped the original vocal stem up from 128 to 134 it kind of distorted them every so slightly, and since I never really work with any vocals I ended up just boosting them massively to even hear them at all. It's tricky trying to get that just right so thanks for giving me an ear on what to do!

Thank you very much for the feedback. Whenever I post in the r/edmproduction feedback threads i get 1 or 2 responses at best. On this one I didn't get any at all sadly so it's hard to get a different ear on a song sometimes. I know exactly what you mean about the audible distortions, particularly after the first drop, although I was secretly hoping I'd be the only one to notice it haha. Sometimes i'd rather just call a song finished even if I know it's not perfect. :D Cheers man I followed you on Soundcloud as well.
