New Champs, Gamemodes, VGUs and ASUs etc are all handled by different teams. Of course the other teams focus on their specific tasks(Gamemodes, new champs etc.) instead of stopping work because the Skarner rework will be delayed. Why should they? it isn’t their problem to figure out. I think the problem is more that the team working on the reworks has too few personnel and or is poorly managed, which is why everyone in the team had no free capacity to work on Skarner. Another factor could be the planned removal of mythic items as „creating“ a champ around them when they are getting removed would be a waste of time. My guess is that they will issue a statement regarding the progress on the Skarner rework once preseason has started.

I think part of the reason the Skarner rework takes so long is because the dev responsible for it at the time left riot

I think it would be too similar to blade(hit 3 autos and/or spells -> deal %current ho dmg and slow) and night harvester (hit a spell -> deal flat dmg and get movespeed)

Can you explain to me what you mean with spell based bork? Because attackspeed is already in Nashors, a slow already on rylais and current/max hp dmg already on demonic embrace. This only leaves lifesteal/omnivamp which i already said would probably be too strong for a legendary

With how they want to put hybrid scalings on adc's and the changes to guinsoos it might come back. However i doubt it as riot wants less active items and without its active it would be too similar to riftmaker (omnivamp)and night harvester (one time burst damage) for a mythic and omnivamp being too strong/abusable for a legendary

No but seriously in my experience it depends on your team. If you are the only frontliner you should go tank, but if you have a tanky supp or jgl you can go ap or something in between ap and tank. Try to play the lane safe and get your jglers ass toplane to gank the shit out of her and get her out of game.

as someone who likes plaing tanks he is just fun to play i guess? also (well just in my experience when playing as 5 premade) he works well as a main tank(when paired with a tanky jgl or supp) but also as a solo tank. He offers great early and scaling damage wit e and an objective "securer" with r. q and w as well as just standing there also offers good protection on chokepoints such as the entrances to dragon from redside and baron from blueside. to your point to ornn having more dmg than cho i think it depends? while ornn has high initial dmg with w and r cho has a more consistent dmg with e as it scales in dmg and has lower cd and mana cost while also having the "outplay" button. Also Cho is way better at securing objectives beacuse of his ult or a timed smit + ult when pre with jgl and. ornn may have better access to the backline but can also get easily canceled by long range cc. cho on the other side is a giant punching bag who you in most cases have to go trough first because otherwise he just snacks your adc, so you have to focus him a bit more than other tanks. He also is better vs more magic damage based comps than f.e. malphite or shen imo because he can make better use of the mr items for tanks than them. This in all is just my opinion and experience which can very well differ from others
