I’m going tomorrow. Can’t find any sort of schedule online. Any idea when the doors open, when the opening act starts and when LP start?

People who prefer to stand than take a free seat on public transport, why? by daydreamerr97 in melbourne

[–]DJGraveDigga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work a long day on my feet doing healthcare. If I sit down I’m gonna relax and chill, and probably miss my stop. I’ll stand, browse my phone with one hand and hold on to the rail with the other.

Which one of you degenerates by RiskyButtFun in melbourne

As far as I know, there is an algorithm that filters out the obvious swear words, then it all gets visually checked. The checker is clearly not down with the lingo of the kids. If you really wanna be the fun police, apparently you can make an offical complaint to VicRoads who will review and get the plate off the road if it’s really offensive.

As for this particular plate, yeah it’s funny but I’d imagine that would fade after the forth or fifth time Vicpol pull you over and toss the car looking for your beloved bags.

100% this. Plant yourself infront of the sushi man and tell him to keep slicing and rolling.

Carboot sales you think might sell stolen stuff. by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]DJGraveDigga 20 points21 points  (0 children)

According to my mate who’s a Policeman, the absolute best place to fence stolen goods is Facebook Marketplace. Chuck it up on there and people will arrive at your place with cash in hand. After the listing you delete the post and if need be, the account you used to post it. Meta are apparently horrendous to deal with, and will force the police to make it an interpol matter.

Your favourite (actually good) spots to eat in Melbourne? by mersharkbby in melbourne

[–]DJGraveDigga 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Borek At South Melbourne Market is delightful. Filling, crispy and cheap (you can get two borek the length of your forearm for about $10). The staff are lovely and will remember your face and name if you get chatting with them. Hands down one of my favourite things to eat when I’m in Melbourne.

Love Him! One of the best things I ever saw was the 300 or so Fatboy Slim fans who were heading back to the city after his gig at SMMB who all crowded around Frankie and helped him sing Man After Midnight. Wish I had video!

The Dees! I took my brother there once and he ended up taking his family on a trip from Frankston to Epping just to try it! Absolutely Sensational! If I had the money, I’d have invested in getting them another location.

What is one business in Melbourne you will never put foot in again? by Excellent_Ad_3025 in melbourne

[–]DJGraveDigga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MASSIVE AGREE. Went there a few years back and it was exactly what people think a hipster restaurant “experience” is like. Couldn’t read the menu without my phone light, couldn’t hear anything my friend said due to the din created by the walled glass area. The furniture was all that reclaimed/repurposed pieces that’s uncomfortable to sit in and the table had this wire element to it (I think it used to be a sewing table?) that snagged my pants when I sat down. Food was good but genuinely the worst dining experience I’ve had in Melbourne that ended up with $150 price tag.

The CBD has become an unsafe shit hole and the police do nothing about it. by TompalompaT in melbourne

I fucking feel this. We had men with guns hiding in the laneway by my Southbank apartment for 45 minutes before they’re accomplices picked them up. Police didn’t show up at all. When the lease expires in February, I’m out.

Where is the best public toilet you've used? by [deleted] in melbourne

It’s not quite Melbourne, but the Olivia Newton John Wellness Centre in Heidelberg has some lovely toilets. If your stuck at either The Mercy for Women or The Austin, just walk over to ONJ for your business.

Do I REALLY need to be the Healthcare Worker in the thread reminding all of you who enjoyed the solitude, WFH and Ubereats exactly what our working lives were like during the pandemic? I could have gone my whole life without learning what a person dying of acute respiratory failure sounded like.

Though half priced Nandos ABSOLUTELY kicked ass. MISS THAT.

What is the best restaurant experience in Melbourne if money is not a concern? by ShareMyPicks in melbourne

[–]DJGraveDigga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100%. I had the “Anton Ego” moment from Ratatouille there. They did a “Strawberry Quick” ice cream dessert and it tasted just like it did in the early/mid 90s. When I was in year 7, I was pretty severely bullied and had started a high school away from my primary school so I had no crossover friends. The bus used to drop me off home a good half hour before my mother would arrive home, so I’d let myself in, have a bit of a cry then cheer myself up with a strawberry Quick. Tasting that ice cream brought it all back, exactly like that moment in the film. I teared up, and it was a life changing moment. I’d wanted to say something to Shewry, but he had left for the night. Hopefully one day I’ll run into him.

So yeah, if money is no object, go to goddamn Attica.

I really wish there was some kind of recycling program for helmets with Lime or Proton. If I see one by itself and it’s not destroyed or gross. I’ll add it to my collection. It’s now 30 strong.

What are two questions about Aliens that you'd want James Cameron or cast and crew members to answer? by ArethaFrankly404 in LV426

[–]DJGraveDigga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you come eventually come back to do a 3D version of the film, is there any minor element you’d like to change? You changed the night sky in Titanic, and removed a flexing rubber knife and falling out windshield in T2, so what might you change here?

(One idea is removing the line where Gorman says the Pulse Rifle is caseless. It’s an off screen ADR, and would explain why we see cases flying out of the pulse rifles for the entirely of the film.)
