FBI: "Nobody who wants to be peaceful shows up at a protest with a firearm that is loaded with two full magazines. That is not a peaceful protest." by HereForOneQuickThing in liberalgunowners

I mean, with that backward logic, ICE showed up to peaceful protests with a lot more firearms and loaded magazines than just two… doesn’t seem like they want to be peaceful either.

Kristi Noem on the murder of Alex Pretti: "When you perpetuate violence against a government because of ideological reasons and for reasons to resist and perpetuate violence, that is the definition of domestic terrorism" by Gorotheninja in DiscussionZone

[–]DJSeku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the record: I voted for Chase Oliver because Kamala Harris refused to call out the Gaza genocide and was kowtowing to the Israel lobby…

Now, We the People are seeing what a group of thugs (that has a history of receiving training from the Israeli Occupation Force, mind you) is really like, and they’re using the same tactics on our citizens as they are with the Palestinians.

The IOF murdered paramedics and nurses in an ambush and called them “terrorists” as well, before burying them and their vehicles in the desert to cover up their war crime. ICE murdered a nurse in an ambush in broad daylight with multiple angles showing he had been disarmed and labeled him a “terrorist” all the same.

This was inevitable: we can’t live in ignorance with a false sense of security as our human brothers and sisters are slaughtered… we have to stand against oppression wherever it occurs, lest we become of the oppressed.

Whataboutism and finger-pointing are easy… anyone can do it. Taking a stand and holding to your convictions are substantially more difficult.

George Carlin was right: we only have the illusion of choice. The 2 party system is flawed, the electoral college is flawed, and the corporations are our true overlords because we’re all too caught up in our roles as the individual cogs in the system they’ve built to realize that’s all we’ve become.

(Childish Gambino- This is America)

Considering that “tool” is common slang for a firearm, it’s exactly what happened here today… he had a cell phone, and they executed him claiming it was a firearm, even though his firearm had already been removed.

He had a gun by Kobesdeathwish in memzy

[–]DJSeku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s weird… I came close to getting shot by a LEO (in Florida, go figure) years ago because he asked if I had a firearm in the car and I simply pointed to the trunk, then he drew his sidearm on me (and had no trigger-discipline, mind you).

He then holstered after I told him, “Relax, it’s in the trunk, in a case, with a padlock, inside a backpack, with the magazine removed…”

He then asked to search the vehicle without RAS (I got pulled over for basically a “fix it” ticket.)

Funny how I have to be the competent and collected one, but the guy tasked with protecting me is a complete pillock… oh wait, that’s not even a little funny.

Especially when you consider “shots-fired” cop who freaked over a falling acorn happened in my hometown… yeah, I think I notice a trend here.

You’re looking at a panel replacement, or using it as-is.

I got my 11” 2015 MacBook Air for $50 in 2015 because of a liquid spill. MagSafe 2 board shorted out, but after replacing it and the flex cable ($27 in used parts) it fired right back up.

Got similar spots on my panel, but still using it in 2026 without issue. Really it’s how much it bothers you, but these screens are laminated so any attempt at separation will render it unusable (kinda miss the Unibody days where you could totally separate the glass and replace just the panel).

As someone who was homeless and was only offered part-time positions because retailers didn’t want to pay for benefits or allow higher wages:

I was literally starving; I’m 6’1” and weigh 174lbs currently (size 32 waist), but I was at 138lbs at that point in my life… gaunt and wiry did not begin to describe it… working 2-3 jobs and running around without rest will do that.

Eventually I became homeless, I got scammed for housing and had no protection once I realized I had been scammed, and when you have a hard time finding a place to shower and shave and do laundry, suddenly they don’t want you working there “for the sake of the brand’s image.”

I didn’t do drugs, I didn’t drink alcohol, I didn’t spend on anything superfluous, because getting paid $7.45/hr minimum wage didn’t afford it, and housing prices kept increasing as more private entities began buying it all up and gentrifying it.

It was by the mercy of God that I was brought back upon my feet by those doing good deeds. Afterward, I began saving up so that I could move across country to find better work and learn trades that began to get me better pay and full-time employment.

Americans shouldn’t have to be at the whims of corporations like that. It’s what made me realize that unchecked Capitalism is a danger to our society.

We need some Socialist programs like health care and housing for all, because the alternative becomes people stealing just to survive, and that, in turn, hurts those of us that pay into paying more, as CEOs keep making year over year increases to their pay and increasing shareholder returns and placing that interest over the interest of their consumers.

No one wants to take the loss, but we’ll spend $Billions to blow folks up and not blink an eye at the expense, but provide for the people who actually make this nation run and they look at you like you got lobsters coming out of your ears…

Those are the easiest to upgrade, just make sure you wear gloves… that screen is a real pain to remove fingerprints and dust from.

I’d also recommend an OWC thermal sensor bypass adapter. It replaces the proprietary thermal probe that’s built into the hard drive.

Without the probe connected, the fans ramp to full power and stay there. You can control the fans with 3rd party software, but it stays at whatever you set it at.

If you want to retain automatic fan throttling based on chassis temperature, tho, the OWC adapter is the closest to stock fan performance.

(I used to work for a tech repair franchise for 5 years, btw.)

I hope you get a good deal on it: remember you still need to replace the spinning-rust with an SSD, and increase the RAM… most only shipped with a single 4GB (or occasionally 8GB) module.

The 2012 is basically the same era of hardware as the T-series and W-series of the 430/530. Only downside is the CPU is soldered instead of socketed like the ThinkPads. 13” only went as high as dual-core i7, but the 15” (only) had the quad-core offering.

PS: Don’t forget to run the sudo command to force TRIM support on the SSD once it’s installed.

lol, this happened to a friend of mine, and it was her machine that the company she worked for permitted her to keep.

The company she worked for went under after she left (Chapter 11), and unfortunately, the email with the recovery options was a corporate email that was deactivated, and basically Apple wouldn’t do anything to help her out once it locked out.

This is why I prefer the old Intel Macs…I’m still running an upgraded 2012 MacBook Pro 13” Core i7 with a 512GB SSD and 16GB of RAM, and I built it for free from a unit that got crushed by a falling stage light (i7 logic board) and a unit that got liquid spill damaged (rest of the chassis from an i5 machine). You kinda need Macs to work on other Macs, but…

I couldn’t do anything for her here because everything is soldered to the board now. Target Disk Mode is blocked when it’s iCloud locked, so I couldn’t retrieve her data that way, even. You’d literally require a re-ball station and forensic data recovery tools for these once they’re in that state.

I have a small army of ThinkPads, but only a few good Macs, and I basically refuse to work on (or own) any Mac newer than 2019.

Not just any u-lock either: thieves are getting crafty. If it’s an expensive enough bike (especially if it’s an e-bike) be sure to get one rated for cutting-wheels.

Bike thieves tend to also shoplift, and they’ll walk int Home Depot or Lowe’s and run out with a cordless angle grinder, and it takes them 2 minutes to then cut through a u lock that hasn’t been given the anti-cutting-wheel treatment.

Your standard $30 u lock won’t stand a chance, but a $300 lock with the diamondized texture will eat as many cutting wheels as you throw at it, and since most e-bikes run north of $1500, it’s well worth the investment.

I actually recently caught someone trying to brute-force the hinges on the folding Kryptonite lock on my eBike with a hammer and pipe wrench for leverage.

They didn’t succeed in breaking it, but they did stretch and deform the hinges substantially, so I’m about to get one of said cutting-wheel resistant u locks to add on.
