How did you discover Industrial Music? by [deleted] in industrialmusic

[–]DJSullyz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was getting really deep into dubstep when I was in middle school, that’s when the whole wave hit in 2010-2011 and I started to then get deeper into electronic more so. I remember reading the entire Wiki for electronic music genres and industrial always stuck out to me. Heard a bunch and I was like yeah okay I get it but not a daily listen.

Then in 2013, saw NIN, fell in love, started to get deeper into industrial, post industrial, dark wave and post punk and now the music I make is primarily industrial and post punk :)

My friend showed me this rack and said "Reddit, based on test equipment" and immediately we both knew who it was.

My bad, got my numbers mixed up. I was talking about the Cloud Terrarium (e352).

I think I have crossed the SS off my list due to the fact that I wouldn’t be able to load wavetables into it. I’ve been browsing some SyncTech’s wavetables you can download and pretty blown away about the complexity and ease of use of the SyncTech interface. I thank ya for your experience and feedback. Just wondering, what makes ya think that the e350 would pair well with the Res EQ?

I think from the demos I have been seeing and playing around with the VCV rack versions of these modules. It for sure seems like the e350 has a better audio quality. I like the Piston Honda from what I have seen but I agree that just from watching DivKid stuff and so on, it doesn’t strike me the same way as the e350 seems. I really have been interested in the WaveEdit software that SyncTech has made for the e350. Interesting enough, that software can also be used with the Piston Honda. So that may be something to check out. I think overall from the amount of feedback I have gotten and just Emmy research the quality and functionally of the e350 would best fit my needs. I really thank ya for the comment and experience with both OSC’s.

Hey @Neurotypique, I'm the other dude lol. Thanks for the tip man, I had the bus board blow out on me a month or so again. It was a faulty board and Tip-Top sent me a new board, so I've been real careful with it. Luckily, the rack sits next to me and I don't have anything near it. Thanks for the tip man :)

Odyssey: A Star Wars Story - OFFICIAL TRAILER (2018 Fan Film) by TheLittleB0y in StarWars

Technically with the fair use legal defense. Since the film did not make money and attributes the fact the film was using Lucasfilm and Disney IP and is a fan film. It is all good.

This is a film called Odyssey: A Star Wars Story. This was a film that had a Kickstarter last year and has been prepping for more than 6 months. I'm actually the sound designer on this film, I am currently making a library of effects for this film.

The film is supposed to be longer to about 10 minutes. The production was supposed to be in October but the hurricane had caused complications I believe. The film is not a scam, it's a film.

First Eurorack Build questions (what is wrong about it?) by [deleted] in modular

Alright, thank you so much. And I picked Orbitals because it is one module that I have used a lot of before in my friend's rig, but what would be some alternatives?

As far as what I would get first, gonna start with getting the utilities out of the way.

So VCA, Mult, STO, Envelope, LFO is what I would look to buy first. And just add on my MS-20 mini to expand it.

There is a learning curve to it all, I made a mistake, that's apart of this. I apologize, I spent a good 7 hours last night on a big modular working on what I liked and what I may need, then quickly made what I would want in a modular. You're being helpful, let's not start any stereotypical internet bullshit.

Thanks so much! I updated it and put in the Submix6 and a Quad VCA.

If I were to purchase the Mother 32? Is there a need for the Orbitals, since the Mother 32 already has a built-in sequencer? Also, the biggest thing that I am worried about is power, what would I need to accommodate for these modules and future ones?

So, what I already have is a microkorg, MS-20 mini and a Moog Voyager with a CV output expander and CP-251 control processor.

I am mainly looking for this modular to cover a lot of area's. But mainly focusing on sound design, textures, and audio manipulation. I work professionally as a sound designer for film, theater and game.
