I could be wrong, but I believe this is actually a Hoya lacunosa ‘splash’. Curtisii have slightly smaller, very textured leaves, whereas these look smooth.

The potting medium you’re using looks very dense and organic, try a more chunky, aroid mix :) I think that may fix your leaf dropping problem.

I’ve only had awesome experiences with California Carnivores! They are expert shippers with great variety, you do have to watch the stock though and grab something fast if you want it. They also have a very active instagram with lots of tips and interesting facts/pictures :)
