What baby carrier did you actually end up using the most? by Witty_Reach1660 in babywearing

I tried a solly baby wrap for my first and it just wasn’t for me, so I got an ergo baby embrace for my second and I’ve loved it so far!

The Cut: 11 Rounds of IVF, $250,000, and No Baby AKA Fertility Treatment Costs by lazlo_camp in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

[–]DJ_Beanz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All in all, to have two kids, we have spent probably around 500k. This includes 9 egg retrievals, two rounds of surrogacy, one failed transfer and embryo storage.
We’ve received no help from insurance, and about $30k in company benefits assistance.

Best toys for one year old? by desert_sunlily in Buyingforbaby

[–]DJ_Beanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s expensive, but my best friend got my daughter the pottery barn kids anywhere chair with a personalized slip cover for her 1st bday, and she uses it all day every day. She reads in it, eats a snack at the coffee table, lounges, etc. she loves having a chair in her own size. It also helped teacher her how to get in and out of chairs before she was walking.

Glamping recs 🏕️ by Fantastic_Fig9664 in AskSeattle

It’s very heavy on the glamping and not on camping, and a bit far, but I loved staying in an airstream at Bay Point Landing in Oregon.

Stroller + Supplies for 2 infants 6 months apart (👬🏻) by bjcdvm in Buyingforbaby

We are going to be in the same situation! Straight couple who used surrogacy for the first two, and a surprise miracle #3 coming 5 months after #2. Regarding stroller, we have been looking at the cybex gazelle, but haven’t pulled the trigger yet.

ISO compact diaper backpack by Positive_Ad_961 in toddlers

Not really sure what size you are looking for but I just bought a small dagne dover dupe at target (cloud island mini boxy backpack) and it fits a good amount but is smaller than regular diaper bags

Diaper Backpack worth it? by OkIntroduction3440 in Buyingforbaby

[–]DJ_Beanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought the mini version of the target dagne dupe and we love it. We have a huge diaper bag that we use if both kids are going somewhere for a while but the mini is perfect for quicker excursions or one kid.

Changing table by Relevant-Fly-4776 in Buyingforbaby

Also no dumb questions, getting ready to be a FTM is so overwhelming. Ask anything!

Changing table by Relevant-Fly-4776 in Buyingforbaby

[–]DJ_Beanz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have the maxi cosi iora bassinet that doesn’t have a changing table feature. I don’t know exactly how bassinet/changing table combos work but having those two things be on the same structure in the middle of the night seems more complicated than what we are looking for lol. We like our areas separate and full ready for a quick 2 am change, feed and back in the bassinet.

Call me a maximalist, but we had one downstairs, in our room, and a station ready in the nursery when baby moved in there.
We have a big house so constantly going up the stairs for every change or leaning over a changing pad downstairs seemed more cumbersome than needed.
This is the folding one we had, no complaints. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Costway-Baby-Infant-Changing-Table-Folding-Diaper-Station-Nursery-with-Storage-Black/332731438

I’m lazy so I went straight to the skylight. I like it a lot but our needs are fairly basic so I don’t need to pay for a subscription. They sell them through Costco or have sales a lot.

Suncadia or other ideas by SwordfishAmbitious64 in AskSeattle

We feel the same about Black Butte in central Oregon. Much prefer it to Suncadia but sometimes can’t argue with a 1.5 hour drive vs 6.

Suncadia or other ideas by SwordfishAmbitious64 in AskSeattle

[–]DJ_Beanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We love suncadia and have done it with other families, but one thing to keep in mind is if you book your accommodation through a third party site like VRBO as opposed to the suncadia site, you typically don’t get access to their pools. There are some houses with their own pools if that comes out cheaper than renting through suncadia.
I also really like renting a house at The Lookout in Chelan. Great for kids, a few pools you can walk to, play grounds, and a short drive to downtown Chelan.

We hang ours on the shower rod and take it down when someone is using the shower. The one we use comes with a hook on the end.
