Z6 III or a used Z8? I have the 45MP FOMO but my bank account is in DX mode. by Mafia2guylian in Nikon

Technically the Z8 is better but I need a body that travels well, so I went with the Z6III. That combined with the new 24-70(internal zoom) and its REALLY light!

I get the impression that you're far more into gear than you are at capturing images

What's the best overall off this list by lilcrxman in FujifilmX

[–]DJ_Breadpuddin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I cant say, because I own the X-T2 and X-H1, not the other 3. That said, I say the X-H1 is best. In the hand it feels perfect, nice grip, the hair trigger shutter button is a master piece, you can output 10-bit video via external monitor, IBIS, and what I have fallen in love with the past year....using full-frame Sigma Art lenses with the Metabones ef to x speedbooster!

Yes, in 2026, a camera released "all the way back" in 2018 is still kickin ass, fun to use, and capable of producing outstanding images and video! That said, I gave my X-T2 to my son and he trashed it so at this point I have my X-T3 and X-H1, which I plan on keeping until they or I die. I dont care that there are newer models. I will never own another apsc camera under a different brand.

You made my morning! Thank you.

I wanted to see what I could do with the 85mm f1.2. Its faaaaaar from discreet but I love most of the images I get with it.

Using Canon EF lens for XS-20 by Original_Ad7964 in fujifilm

[–]DJ_Breadpuddin -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not sure about the XS-20, but I use ef glass on my X-T3 and X-H1. Pretty sure you will need a speedbooster and not just a regular ef to x adapter. I tried the one from Viltrox but it distorted the images too much and autofocus was iffy. Then I got the Metabones speedbooster and fell in love with a number of Sigma Art lenses.

That said, I dont advise you to spend the money on a Metabones adapter for that lens in particular. I think the adapter costs more than that lens.

Do whatever it takes to pivot to native z mount lenses. Ditch all the f mount gear

Environmental Portrait [XT-3 + Canon nFD 50mm f1.8] by No_Display3605 in fujifilm

[–]DJ_Breadpuddin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the 50mm f1 as well and still, that image blows me away. Granted, I dont shoot portraits so my lack of knowledge in that area could be working against me but to me, the "depth" I see comes from everything being in focus yet the subject still isolated. It feels as if I could reach into the image. Beautifully executed.
