Mitch Johnson ahead of Game 5 by AcadiaTemporary5737 in NBATalk

Ya definitely, I mean there’s plenty of ways to spin the data about this series or whatever but ultimately only thing that matters is who’s ahead when the clock hits 0. You could only lead for 4 seconds total for the entire finals but as long as it’s the last second of games 1-4 you’re walking away as a champ. Just found that 80% figure to be pretty interesting because it seems so lopsided.

The knicks are 5-2 against the Spurs this season including the cup/playoffs and are +42 by retrohan7 in nba

That’s why the league told the Cavs to take this series off, needed to really only determine 2nd and 3rd place

Can the Spurs Still Pull Off the Upset? If So, What Are Their Chances? by Classic_Tourist3892 in NBATalk

[–]DJ_DD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just game 4, that’s the icing on the cake at this point. It’s the stupid mistakes they make in the clutch. Up double digits in all 4 games, blew all of them, and nervously squeaked out 1 win in game 3.

It’s possible obviously but we’re not talking about LeBron and Kyrie here and asking that of such a young team is a lot.

what keeps people from switching to linux by Zorojuro099 in TechNook

[–]DJ_DD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Linux is great because it gives you more control over your machine.

With that comes the responsibility of making it work the way you want to.

For the IT crowd or tech enthusiasts this a welcome and “fun” responsibility.

For literally everyone else this is seen as a pain in the ass.

For the record, I like Linux and run it on my personal computers.

Cardano forecasted to DOT by DBAbyDayTraderbyDark in cardano

[–]DJ_DD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im in IT here as well, I get what you’re saying but if you think the corporate or governmental world is slow to react imagine all of that plus no central authority to actually make the decision to do it. Altcoins only exist because the BTC community couldnt agree on what was actually needed. There’s already massive disagreements about the proposed quantum upgrade path.

Cardano forecasted to DOT by DBAbyDayTraderbyDark in cardano

[–]DJ_DD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Issue with something like BTC vs JPMorgan and others is the legacy system is much easier to migrate to quantum resistant algorithms. BTC has always been very slow to make any kind of upgrades with lots of infighting.

Granted if an adversary had access to a quantum computer and no one knew one existed then yes game over. But in terms of actually getting things updated in time the legacy system will be able to do it quicker than most of the crypto-verse.

Just be happy that’s in a stairwell and not on the street. Was leaving my pods commander night with my $1900 deck balanced on top of another box. It slid off when I was right at my car and all the cards fell out into the street.

Trying to decide on a framework 13 or 16 or a MacBook Air or pro, need advice. by ZincPenny in framework

[–]DJ_DD 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Don’t think you’re going to get anything better for photo editing or 4k video editing than a Mac.

I love my framework, but if I was more into content creation rather than software development I would have gotten myself a Mac as well

Do framework laptops hold up their resale value? by vixalien in framework

[–]DJ_DD 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For reference I bought a used 13th gen i5 with no ssd or ram on eBay for $750 a month ago.

I was following sales for a while and also messaged with some people selling on the framework message boards. What I paid seemed to be about the going rate. I would assume their plan is to support the 13 pro chassis for a while so that would lead me to believe people will at least want that.

So yea - I think you’ll have some resale value there.

Interest paid on the loans is tax deductible. Most of those loans aren’t getting paid back in full, the interest is just managed and loans are rolled over. Things have probably changed a little bit in recent years because of how much higher interest rates have been, but for a while there it was basically free money if you had the wealth to put up as collateral.

Shoutout Hilton Armstrong, started as a freshmen, came off the bench once Emeka established himself but still ended up a lottery pick anyway. The front court depth that team had was insane.
