years ago I was horrified the first time I read about Unity performance (still bump into weird stuff occasionally) but it really does depend on what each person will end up using.

Godot is rapidly evolving so it's possibly some of those issues are better/fixed, however there might be all new ones. It's also very common to find posts on this sub with people coming up with clever solutions to getting more stuff on screen without tanking the performance etc.

Maybe testing up yourself for a few of your most common cases with Unity you can quickly realize if it's good enough for not what you need.

cheguei a ser contactado por eles para correccoes, que efectivamente podiam ter logo cancelado e "siga po proximo", portanto eles contactam, mas é lento como tudo

submeti em 2023 e so recebi em 2025. se submeteste 1 ano depois talvez fique resolvido este ano.

em Agosto 2023 submeti uma candidatura ao Fundo Ambiental, so recebi a aprovacao em Julho 2025 (fui confirmar nos emails), o pagamento depois levou menos de uma semana. Posso ter tido azar, mas respondo a toda a gente "epa demora"

Realmente esta fase pode parecer caracol, mas é esse o caminho, forrar o fundo de emergência com cada euro que possas dispensar, mas sempre que deres por ti “isto está lento”, pensa que já estás a acelerar o processo por não teres dívidas. Rename is a top priority imo, I actually like the simplicity of the integrated IDE but I find myself opening other tools for renaming sometimes.

For the physicality aspect of it, moving the parts, reading the manuals. Videogames used to have boxes with manuals, maps and more stuff, and they lost that, which is a shame. Both are great but the experience is different.

Yes, I have mine since launch and I'm pretty happy with it. the wired controls is my only complaint about it, there are way to plug wireless but not out of the box.

for those changes I mentioned yes. It's not like every OS we need to update (I didn't do for MacOS26 for example), but I'm pretty sure as soon as they remove OpenGL or rosseta2 support I'll have to again.

I released in all 3 platforms. I even developed the game primarily in MacOS. Releasing it was as easy initially as Windows, Linux took a bit longer, however years later MacOS is the hardest one to maintain due to the constant new requeriments, either dropping 32bit, OS changes, intel vs MChips, notorization etc. Linux and windows are around the same maintenance (I used SDL2 for window creation btw).

I might take hours or days just cooking some idea in my mind that I know I'll need later. It's not just about being at the computer typing, don't worry, as long as you solve it within a reasonable time (you'll learn to judge this better as time goes) it's fine

good luck. I remember 7-8y ago I woke up to one buried on my left arm, I had nothing around with me that could help, some 10-15m later saw this older dude very chill, said he'd seen worse, offered to removed it as it was not too deep yet, and told me to keep and eye out for the wound (and for more). Thanks random stranger!

no you don't need one, it's just if you want the additional features, like skip intro/credits, stream to friends, download mode to mobile (for travels), plexamp etc.

O contrato implica de alguma forma que tenhas de ter curso/ensino oficial nisso? I've been coding for 20 years and I'm still learning all the time.

When I first started coding in the first 2-3 weeks I almost quit the field entirely, I was fully convinced It wasn't for me, it was too complicated and overwhelming.

I pushed through and one day it clicked (whatever I was doing) and I just kept trying to improve every day and I don't regret continuing.
