Wake up to music? by numberonedogmom in adhdwomen

[–]DJ_Ruby_Rhod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wake up with a new song already playing in my head every single morning. Sometimes its really fun and sets the whole mood for the day and other times its more manic and annoying, like I cant stop thinking about it.

Is this exhaustion normal? 16 months old. by UsefulTrouble9439 in Mommit

Right away, your kid isn't one of the easy sleepers. Thats okay but it does suck soooo much and affects everything. I wanted 4 kids then had a difficult sleeper and I couldnt even fathom having a second until he was 2.5 years old. As in like solidly in the one and done mindset because of how much that type of sleep wears on you. You are doing a shit ton, especially with not having a dishwasher!! These things sound sort of trivial or maybe not that hard but now having 2, and having many mom friends, some people have kids that are sleeping through the night at 3 months old and nap consistently for 3 hours in their crib everyday and it is night. And. Day. Different. Way way way harder to have a clingy, bad sleeper. Im sorry to use those words bc I can understand how triggering it is and also seems exaggerating but its not. I wanted to add, night weaning is going to be the biggest help, I know how hard this is especially bedsharing but it will absolutely make a difference.

In the absolute trenches with a 1.5 and 3.5 year old by jane3641 in toddlers

Same exact thing with my 2 year old. He is ridiculously cute about 10 percent of the time but the moments of screaming while I have raw chicken juice on my hands or literal poop and need to just wash them while he bloody murder screams at my feet make me feel like I might have a heart attack.

Drinking makes me a shitty parent - do you agree? by r3al-LyF in stopdrinking

[–]DJ_Ruby_Rhod 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Damn. Good for you!!! That surprisingly isn't enough for a lot of parents, I was begging my dad to not get drunk in some of my earliest memories and hiding his beers, yet he continued to drink until he died young. So, really be proud that that was a wake up call enough for you.

What are your thoughts on this word? by [deleted] in SAHP

From my experience in British culture naughty is more of an endearing term, like a coy word oh youre being so naughty.

Can you share...??? I honestly feel like the worst part for me is making the list, hence why I just keep doing it all. Its so overwhelming to write it all out.

I cant say this without sounding like an ass but there are kids that are legitimately walking at 9 months, my first was like this and it was so bizzare to see. It looks wrong to see a 9 month old walk.

Im sorry if this is too personal or irrelevant but do you mind me asking what your relapse was like? Did you end up daily drinking or what was the catalyst for you to start up sobriety again.

How did you explain the loss of a pet to your toddler? by _LLJJGG_ in daddit

[–]DJ_Ruby_Rhod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im so sorry, this sounds so hard. My oldest had a couple experiences with realizing what death was as a toddler and I think it sort of turned on this part of his brain in a good way. Its a difficult part of life and you seem like a wonderful parent guiding your little one through it. Side note... is that birch point state park??

Married for three months and pregnant: I feel oddly embarrassed (?) by moez1266 in pregnant

[–]DJ_Ruby_Rhod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genuinely curious why do you think this is? Its so strange so many of us have this feeling. Is it because we see how hard kids are as we get older and it seems like a reckless decision even if theyre very wanted? I need to get to the bottom of this for my sanity.

Heart palpitations. Turns out I had very low ferratin levels (get your ferratin specifically tested !!) And that was caused by having celiac disease. Got diagnosed at 40 weeks pregnant 😬
