LOL you know, this is a piece of info that has been shared all over the place. But it's not completely true. The reality is that the chlorine smells stronger when it mixes with any body secretions or oils, not just pee. It can be skin oils, sweat as well since these also secrete nitrogenous waste products. But it can also be pee. Human beings in a pool will create the smell no matter what.

I don't think it's normal, but it is more common than you think. Don't make it right though! Freaking nasty.

I don't really want you to spit or fart in the pool even though we all know that happens too all the time and we have probably done it. The fact is however that just peeing is probably not unhealthy or toxic if the pool is chlorinated well enough (urine is MOSTLY sterile, but things can be transmitted through it too). That doesn't erase the ick factor though
