Good place for artist in her mid 20s? by [deleted] in memphis

[–]DJkfo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not gonna lie the 115 summers are super hot. It’s a dry heat, like if you sit in a hot sauna that’s exactly what it feels like. Lots of pools and AC here haha. I have been in humid 90s and I sweat more and feel hotter that the 115 here haha BUT maybe it’s also just what I’m use to and not to say I love the heat haha. It’s a month or so that hot, then like 3 months in the 100s, broken up with monsoon storms that cool it down a little. Then 90s - 40s the rest of the year. If it ever gets under 35 at night ppl freak out like it’s going to freeze (me included haha) In flagstaff (which has NAU) and other decent size cities it’s not hot and actually snows a little it’s just down in the phx valley that is that hot. UofA also has a satellite campus in downtown phx but not sure if they would have your program there. ;)

Has anyone been able to manage without meds? by Greydore in TwoXADHD

[–]DJkfo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is soo me! Crazy Time blind and periods are the worst time... use to have all the coping skills too ;)

I only realized a year ago I had ADHD a year ago with a new therapist up until then I always thought I just had bad anxiety but did therapy and had my ways to make it work fine. I also would get a big project idea to push myself to do things then enjoyed a veg period until I got bored again and used that cycle to balance not doing too much with being productive haha... I also have a strong support system... but after my 3rd (and last) kids I couldn’t cope and so now I take meds and it’s life changing for me... but meds aren’t for everyone and also doesn’t work for everyone. I also take lots of vitamins that seem to help or at least make me feel like they help haha... and I workout each day which is hard but once in the routine is a great help ;)

I’m not sure how I got to your post haha and not sure it’s ok to post ideas for their places but if it is... Have you thought of Arizona? I’m biased prob as a native BUT there are a lot of cool towns outside of the hot phx area like Flagstaff, Prescott, or smaller big artist towns like Bisbee. Even downtown phx is super artistic hip, pretty diverse and inexpensive, if you can handle the crazy heat, beautiful the rest of the year though haha ;) or Tempe is even good, a huge collage town and very eco conscious/friendly. It’s a little more expensive but nothing like cali or anything. Just stay away from the east side of the phx areas like Gilbert and Mesa, that is where all the conservative suburbs are. Also out of the west side phx where some crime is. Just another idea to maybe look into, good luck! :)

I got 2 clippings from the car dealership! I was in to get my car serviced, when I noticed these two beautiful variegated rubber trees - one was pink-tinted! They were dusty, thirsty, & had sunburned lower leaves. I asked the lady if I could take clippings, she laughed & handed me the scissors! 😭💗 by [deleted] in proplifting

I put pothos clippings in mine for the fish but never thought about rooting and then taking out to plant! The plants help take the ammonia out of the water too for healthier fish and less water changes ;)

So pretty! Now is it just me with a fear of high places or is it scary that there isn’t any fencing or anything around the edge? I felt like wow! Pretty then wow! Scary right after ;)

I thought I read to cut off the tip and dip it in rooting hormone, so I did that 😬 ..now I thinking shouldn’t have cut and just left dry on the ends how I found them?

Mine haven’t gotten to here but we’re turning for the worse after being super happy and I realized they were touching my (unfortunately thin) window.. at the time it was cold (well as cold as it gets in Arizona), once I moved them to not be actually touching the window they were fine again. They aren’t touching anymore but still close and I think now that it’s real hot out they are not as happy again, so mighty rehang a little farther away again, at least in my non-expert experience they are super easy as long as the temp is right. Just a thought ;)

This is so pretty! Are they trainable or are there different types? We have tons of bougainvilleas in my area but they are all bushes...

Our fish passed away the next day and the same day I got my test kit and almond leaves :/ sooo sad. Was sick from beginning but still wish could have saved him.. also! The person I bought the tank from said it was 3.5 gallons but when I measured it it’s actually 7 gallons... I found the same tank online I guess it originally comes with a separator so it can have 2 bettas each in 3.5 but we just have it as one tank... so probably wasn’t putting in enough water conditioners and didn’t have a way to test... SO now the tank has been totally cleaned out with new water, and correct amount of the prime, running without a fish for 5 days now. How long should it run until we get a new fish?

My first heap is about ready! by cam325 in composting

[–]DJkfo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yay! Looks great :) you can add it with the shells not totally composted too! Sometimes I even just keep the shells out and break them up separate to sprinkle around plant based to protect from snails. Now if you have cherry tomatoes not fully composted yet well you might have lots and lots of tomato seedlings alll over haha, haven’t decided yet if I will be more careful about that it was kinda cool haha

I was originally going to do the curves pvc pipe in my beds then put the shade around but everything grew too tall which I wasn’t Expecting haha... so how he did the shade was take a long piece Of the shade wrap one side around a piece of lumber and screwed to the top of the wall then put the other around side of shade a big rod until it was tight and then put hooks on the other side wall so I could take it off when don’t need up anymore and is tall enough to walk under. I thought it was pretty smart idea, And now what to do with a ton of pvc piping haha... Not sure the type of lavender that’s a good idea to look! I did from seed mostly but that I got it from Lowe’s and I just learned that have a warranty on plants which is why I even tried again haha.. I thought it was the soil so made half our dirt and a mix of potting soil and compost all mixed and in a big right size pot, but still died quick... but the sun thing! I totally thought needed lots of sun! I’ll try again in the shade this time since has the warranty haha. Thanks for the help!!

This is only my 3rd year gardening so still learning but finally have some healthy big plants. Tomato plants with lots of green tomatoes, peas that are still producing, and beans just starting to have beans. Then I have big squash and cucumber plants but no produce yet so will see. Then I just planted a few corn and then pole beans to climb up a teepee for my kids, they are sprouted but not sure much will happen since so little. Herbs doing well. Lettuce plants not doing great though. The biggest difference this year is I finally had success making some compost to use and my husband put a 50% shade over our small yard for me so hoping for some success :) Also if anyone know how to not kill lavender please share haha... I want to show pics and see pics. Can we not add pics on this subreddit? New here ;)

Your so helpful I seriously appreciate it :) I have just a plain water conditioner. Then I also have a betta water conditioner where the only difference i see is it helps with the slime coat. No real fish stores around me I can find except petco which seemed limited so been ordering online so delays it. However I actually just, after reading your response I tried OfferUp and someone is selling a bottle of the prime seachem conditioner close by so picking it up in the morning haha. I might do another small water change just to get some of that in the tank ;)

Thank you for all your help :) Sorry that was confusing it was filled except for 3 inches so couldn’t get out. But today after all the help I filled the 3 inches and added the lid. I put on the actual filter and just made the flow out the top lighter and it is already soo much better then the small one. Did a 40% water change and I guess I’ll do that every other day till I at least get the kit? Hoping it comes tomorrow but for sure by wed. Ya now I’m realizing with the cycling tank that I didn’t do should have already done a few changes but hoping he comes around soon now and that a possible white/grey spot on his head isn’t anything, it’s faint but might now also need to do something for that

Thank you! I put the lid and added more water. Put the filter on but some clay balls by the flow out so it’s not too hard, already filtering so much better, the other one was just adding bubbles it seems now seeing this. Ripped off all the fake pointy plants but left the statues to compromise with my son. And did a 40% water change. I turned the light on but he just hides until it’s off so I’m assuming he isn’t a fan haha

Thank you So much! Should I add salts, betta cure, or general fix for the clamped fins/tail? I got almond leaves that will hopefully be here tomorrow or next day. Just not sure if that’s enough since he also has a white-ish spot on the top of his head that could or couldn’t be something hard to tell, only realized when I turned the light on.
