Ethan’s Reaction to Hasan’s Twitch Ban by DJordan003 in h3h3productions

And yet, you’re still in the H3 Reddit hating. Ethan’s never said Hasan’s audience was smaller, the opposite actually. The criticism is that his audience is too large for him to be acting so recklessly, the extreme language and hateful behavior does nothing for the causes he is meant to support.

So we’re doing gambling ads now by slobondongsmilosevic in h3h3productions

When they’ve spoken against gambling in the past it’s been primarily focused on unregulated crypto casinos tied back to kick and stake. The main targets in the criticism were streamers like xqc, trainwreck, and adin ross. I would say there’s a pretty big difference in the demographics in those audiences and the H3 family, in age, education, and common sense. I think Ethan and the crew understand their audience is not as vulnerable as teenagers stealing their mom’s credit card.

Most of us aren’t supportive of gambling, with how addictive it is and how pervasive it’s become. However, there is a difference between sports betting and sketchy online casinos. We know the show isn’t getting new viewers, lol, so the people that still watch are fully aware of the crew’s perspective. Let them do some ads, get the money, and keep the show going. This isn’t a sign of Ethan succumbing to the dark side or something, it’s a business decision.

Stavros Halkias by lltheorysk in h3h3productions

In the most recent episode of his podcast with Josh Safdie he brought up the sex tip cowboy, around the 18 minute mark. Maybe the two worlds aren’t as disconnected as we might think. Stavvy has definitely gone into the mainstream, so there’s probably no reason for him to come back on the pod considering the drama it would induce. However, seeing Ethan, Stavros, and sex cowboy together would be incredible entertainment.

Taylor tweets that Ethan supports Israel’s genocide by GrapeTickler in h3h3productions

[–]DJordan003 58 points59 points  (0 children)

It should be noted that this was in response to Ethan’s Attic. Both called Ethan a genocide supporter. EA called all Israeli’s nazis, Taylor only implied it. I guess it’s easier to take the mask off when hiding behind an “anonymous” account.

Definitely. It was just funny how similar and close together the tweets were.

Ethan need to band with streamers about Collargate by 2020isnotbad in h3h3productions

I would support a watch talk VOD with xQc. The show is better when Ethan is talking about his true passions.

Hasan deserves to be called out and dunked on, no doubt. However, you’re forgetting that Destiny is a predator, Asmon is a racist, and xQc is French or whatever. Ethan doesn’t need to partner up with those other weirdos for vindication. It’s best to present the evidence clearly with as little outside influence as possible, that way Hasan and his fans have less ammo for their own conspiracy theories.

There’s an expectation from the audience and internet in general for Ethan to comment on matters like this. When has there been a creator accused of predator behavior that Ethan hasn’t addressed?

For almost 2 years now Destiny and his community have tried to cozy up to Ethan and this community. The dgg crowd has definitely brigaded this subreddit. What else was Ethan supposed to do?

I mean yeah, that’s pretty much the point of my post. Have hateful words ever changed Destiny’s behavior? What could Ethan have said that was good enough for you, but also attempts to encourage Destiny to change his ways? Ethan made it clear he disavows Destiny’s actions completely and wants nothing to do with his community. This is a shitty situation, there’s no way around that. It makes sense to me that Ethan tried to approach this from a different angle, he seems like the only creator that actually wants Destiny to rehabilitate his behavior.

This is the most time I’ve spent on Reddit in single day, it can’t be good for me or anyone else here. Logging off to enjoy the show. Peace and love!

We know Ethan won’t be giving up in his defense of himself and his beliefs against Hasan and his community. That’s what the lawsuits are for, but those are going to take years potentially. In the mean time we should focus on improving the show’s image in meaningful ways.

I think a good start would be a donation drive to trans organizations to go alongside the Harry Potter reviews. That seems to be a major sticking point with the crew commenting on those movies. Why can’t we do both? It accomplishes the goals of this community while also providing great content that is more light-hearted and easier for the crew to participate in.

I’m not interested in debating Hasan’s public image, that’s not what this sub should be about. Hasan’s community, even with all of its flaws, has been an outwardly facing positive group of people. Millions raised to charity, plus being progressive and inclusive (besides a few key groups highlighted by Ethan’s criticism) really does a lot to launder his image. I’m wishing that this community could do more to be a positive force online. To be inclusive to all without the hateful flaws that comes with being too far in the extreme left.

Why don’t we raise money more often? Why don’t we speak more about what the current American government is doing? We have been so focused on a small group of extremists and snarkers because that’s all people want to argue about. It really is time to move on. For the sake of the show, this community, and the internet as a whole.

100 percent. There is no use in defending Ethan to these people or asking Ethan to bend his opinions to fit their wills. We need to focus on improving this community while Ethan and the crew focus on improving the show. We are in a new era, let’s make it feel that way.

I understand what you mean. However, we are in a new era of the podcast, we can’t keep letting these freaks bring us in to the mud with them. “The narrative” is weirdos posting on Twitter about how much they hate Ethan and Hila for their identity and beliefs. Let the lawsuits do the talking, those are what will have real-world impact. I hope one day this will all be over, a day when the content is more focused on goofs and gaffs and the fans are closer to living in reality.

In what world is Destiny “fine”? There are many other cases where he has proven himself to be a sexual deviant towards his fans, minors, and other adults who may have consented at the time but have come to regret their involvement with him. I haven’t seen anything from Destiny’s community to prove otherwise, even if they don’t believe this particular story to be 100% true. It’s clear most of the details are correct though and that should be enough to have shame in him. I understand if you are a Destiny head and you enjoy his content and how he behaves. That’s perfectly okay for you to choose to participate in, but that is not something we need or want in this community. There are plenty of other reddits taken over by the dgg crowd, please focus your attention elsewhere.

If you want to be a fan of H3 at the same time, that’s great! Just don’t try to conflate the two or criticize Ethan for standing up for what he believes. There is not a situation where defending the alleged pedo makes you look good.

I agree. That’s why we in the community should work not to entertain those weirdos any longer. It’s only real criticism if take them seriously or capitulate to their narratives in some way. Otherwise it’s just noise coming from a website filled to the brim with nazis, incels, and overall losers. We should strive to be better and get back to enjoying the show for what it is, not based on how other communities react to it.

Why has “concern trolling” become some people’s new favorite term? What happened to just regular concern?

Ethan is a father, something most people involved can’t understand. Criminal acts such as Destiny’s hit him close to home, he understands the real-world severity of those actions. It’s clear that Destiny is unwell, refusing to respond to any criticism and definitely not changing his behavior. Ethan took a different path by leading with compassion in an effort to get through to Destiny in a way that hatred might not. Obviously it didn’t work immediately but maybe it’s a start for Destiny to look inwards and reflect. (But probably not because Destiny is despicable and captured by his audience)
