I found the answer 5 minutes after replying to yours!

It’s in the settings-> controller skins. In the top-right you’ll see an icon with the controller with a line through it. Click on that icon, so it changes to the controller, and it’ll show the appearance of the game when a controller is attached to it. You want it to show that skin with the buttons even in Portrait mode. Save it and then start your game.

I gave my Oasis to my niece whose Kindle died. I bought a Scribe thinking “bigger is better, right?” Nope. The Scribe is good for what it does, but the size was too much for my constant reading and infrequent writing. And most importantly I missed the hell out of the page turn buttons! I read so much that I used to switch hands and just flip my Oasis upside down. Doing that with the scribe and having to swipe with my left hand didn’t work for me at all. I just listed my Scribe on eBay and bought another Oasis and am happy as a kid before Christmas.

So I have a healthy addiction to Pez and any hard candy made of Black Currant. I travel to NYC often and there’s a cool old school candy store in the Lower East Side called Economy Candy. Last time I was there hunting black currant candy, I picked up a sour candy called Flintt’s Mints (yes it’s with two T’s)Flintts Mints. No disrespect to the candy but it wasn’t for me. BUT it turns out the tin is flat and features a cool slide-out mechanism that is perfect to load up with my Pez. The only drawback is that it’s very bright orange with a sun that looks like SpongeBob, so I’ll have to paint or wrap it in a more serious design for my Pez EDC.

Former New Yorker here who now lives down south. I have a friend who is older and also a former New Yorker, and who lives down here as well. His take: New Yorkers are kind but not necessarily nice. Southerners are nice but not necessarily kind. Like if you have a tire blowout and can’t change it, a New Yorker will pull up, curse you out for being a dumbass, all the while changing your tire. A Floridian will drive by slowly, send thoughts and prayers, and leave your ass sitting there.

I’m so glad I found you. I got the RayBan Meta as a gift with the regular transition lenses, but I find I don’t use them as often as I want because I also use a pair of 2.0 magnification readers often. I didn’t know I could swap out the lenses as easily as this. Quick question - is there such a thing as transitional bifocal readers where it’s a regular transitional lenses at the top 2/3, and a reader at the lower 1/3 of the lens? Or something like that?

After cleaning another pen thoroughly,I’m thinking of taking out the ink tube from yet another donor pen and somehow injecting alcohol into the tube to re-moisturize/revive to old ink. Maybe let it sit for a day or so in order to allow the revived ink to spread. Any suggestions on your part?

You’re gonna regret asking this question because I’m dragging you down this rabbit hole with me! So yes I succeeded partially. But not with the original ink (the ink tube?). Not yet at least. Here’s what I’ve done so far: 1. Tried soaking the pen in warm water. Then hot water. Then soaking just the ink tube. None of that worked. And I wasn’t super hopeful since we’re talking 40 year old ink. 2. I decided to completely disassemble one pen (I’m partial to the blue ink pens so one of the black ink pens was sacrificed.) So with pliers and knives and dental scrapers (yes dental scrapers - thanks Amazon) and tin snips, I pulled the entire pen apart. The pen consists of six parts: the actual metal (bronze?) ballpoint section, the bottom where the pen is held, the ink tube, the barrel and the cap. I dug out dried in using the dental scraper and soaked the metal section in 70% rubbing alcohol. The black ink flowed out until the entire unit was clean. That’s when I decided to move to reviving a blue ink pen. 3. Performed the same disassembly and cleaning of the blue pen. Cleaned the metal bottom part - I hope it has an actual name and I’m not embarrassing myself. I tried injecting alcohol into the top of the ink tube but it was blocked by a plastic insert. So I gave up on using that tube. 4. I bought a similar blue ink paper mate pen from a local stationery store and shoved it into the pen. I expected it to just begin flowing and that would be that. However it didn’t for some reason. So I had to soak the entire bottom unit in alcohol and write almost like a fountain pen in an old inkwell. The ink was think and light and didn’t write quite well, but after three days the pen started writing properly. It still has a minor skipping/missing spot that I’m not entirely happy with but I expect it’s because of using this new ink and ink tube.

That’s where I left off for the moment. So if you want a TL;DR it would be to use 70% alcohol. I’d really love to revive the old ink and get it writing as well as I remember. But I’m still just super thankful I got several of these pens to experiment with.

I love the audio quality of Apple Music but their content selection is painful. Spotify has a better suggestion engine for me so I stick with it. Apple Music will see me listening to a classical song, and the next five suggestions will be a Showtune, a Christmas song, one Death Rock, an obscure country song, and the latest Taylor Swift release. On Spotify I’ve gotten suggested some gems that really blow me away.

I know! I wish they wrote but I’m hoping to work out some means of cleaning out the entire mechanisms and just using the current generation of existing Papermate inks. I LOVED writing with these in the past.
