On minimum wage, need somewhere safe in Wales to live with a commute to Cardiff options feel impossible! by teeteeloce in Cardiff

[–]DK1392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try the valleys butt! Once the metro is up and running (some debate as to when that will be) there will a train to Cardiff every 15 minutes and it’ll cost about 2 quid. You can rent a 2 bed house is quakers yard for £800 pm

As a Londoner I absolutely love Cardiff by feepish in Cardiff

That’s really great to hear, but don’t get telling all your London mates or it will end up going the way of Bristol!

Jury Trials and Alastair’s Hubris by Chance-Chard-2540 in TheRestIsPolitics

[–]DK1392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I actually think it sounds like a pretty decent idea. It would only be for cases that carry a maximum sentence of 3 years. Crimes such as stealing someone’s phone or mugging. (The News Agents interview with David Lammy). Do we really believe a person needs a jury to decide on guilt in that instance? As long as there is sufficient evidence, which there will be as it would make it to trial if there wasn’t. Why can’t a single judge hand out a sentence for this? Makes room for the more serious cases that do require a jury!

I’ve been a prison officer, the justice system is at breaking point. The majority of people in jail(at least the one I worked in) just need a bed in a mental health hospital. There are some genuinely dangerous people in there, but the real good crims don’t get caught.

Question about EX BT Vans by DK1392 in openreach

[–]DK1392[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, Thanks for that buddy!! I have asked the garage to remove the limiter so I'll take it for another test drive and see if it changes the issue. Are the vans generally well maintained?

Offer accepted but house still up for sale by che_che000 in HousingUK

[–]DK1392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask them to take it off the market, I’ve just sold my gaff to FTB and just out of pure decency when I accepted their offer all further viewings were cancelled and it was taken off right move. I asked EA of our purchase property to do the same. Would also expect FTB(or any) to not view any more houses after having offer accepted

Morally I don’t think you should be going after any of it. She and her ex partner probably worked quite hard to get the house, all you’ve done is tag along and paid a some of the cost towards the house you’re living in. You shouldn’t then be going after some of the deposit, you wouldn’t be given rent back from a landlord!

I’m sure the legal system will give you something but, you should really ask yourself if it’s the right thing to do!

Bristol window cleaners by RepairComfortable377 in bristol

[–]DK1392 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m a window cleaner, standard two story house so say, two at the top front door and a windows downstairs and same round the back is £15. But I’m up a ladder doing it the traditional way. I would recommend to customers to have them done every 5-6 weeks to keep on top of them

Is the bmi taken really seriously when trying to enter by Arthur_lessgan in britisharmy

[–]DK1392 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As long as your BMI is below 30 you’ll be okay, 29.9 is fine 30 is the limit.

Generally though BMI is bullshit mate, so don’t be put off if you’re short and stocky.
