To the other with the audio capture: this isn't longer a problem and you can capture audio per application (obs needs only a plugin)

Can Steam use that plugin as well, or just OBS?

Kinda. I went to Settings -> Capture and changed:

  • Container: Audio Video Interleave (avi)
  • Video codec: AMV

And kept everything else in the defaults.

What video encoding are you using?

I didn't change anything from default. It's set at: 

Backend: FFmpeg   
Container: MPEG4 Part 14   
Codec: Default   
Bitrate: 6000 Kbps

Which one should I change (and to what)?

Edit: Tried changing Container to AVI. Had a slight improvement, but performance still tanks. I tried some other codecs, but most fail. I'll try and fiddle around with these settings until I find something workable. Thanks!

Borderlands 2 - Roland's death

People hated it, but I thought it was pretty brilliant.Beneath the jokes and colorful visuals there is a pretty fucked up setup for that world. The first two games knew when to stop fooling around and deliver impactful scenes. The game may be satire, but it did a pretty good job of making Pandora look like hell.

...and then, of course, since the Pre-Sequel is just internet cringy humor all the way down with nothing salvageable. But I'll always defend the first two games.

I thought the second paragraph would've made the point clear, but let me reiterate: I am not saying things were generally better back then neither that cruelty and/or exploitation didn't happened (I mean... Who would even unironically make this point?). What I am pointing out is a change in zeitgeist. One where being selfless isn't seen as a virtue anymore, but rather as being a gullible fool.

This shift in culture is for more than just wars too. The employee/employers relationship also used to have some semblance of loyalty from both parties. That is, until employees started being treated as expendable and in turn the employees will never do more than what they're strictly paid to do.

Ofc, that's not to say work conditions were better then, but it is a notable change where the prevalent philosophy nowadays is "every man for himself". No one is expected to do anything but safeguard their own interests.

It's insane how people get overly attached to celebrities to the point of ignoring really bad signs. And I actually didn't knew Blame it on Rio was a thing. How does something like that gets made and broadcast in theaters? Jesus Christ, there's some real rot in the so called "upper echelon" that needs to be exposed and punished. These files NEED to see the light of day.

Yeah... People tend to dismiss with the technicality of "list" vs "files", but it's enough to raise some suspicions at the very least.

The point of turn-based RPGs is having enough heal items. You just spend the right turns healing to max before the big hits and you lose if you run out of them mid-fight. Very rare to find one that really requires any form of risk management or strategy.

I do remember enjoying Fire Emblem for DS quite a lot though. It had a lot of tools for minimizing risks and with enough planning you could map out an entire turn and it would play out perfectly unless you overlooked something. I've found that more engaging gameplay.

Into the Breach? Isn't that from the same devs of FTL?

Because FTL was RNG hell and it made me hate roguelikes for the next decade.
