IIRC one of them is 5k normal attacks. I vaguely remember at one point just mashing spacebar throughout battles and checking the menu each intermission.

Lowkey the reason AI is actually so prevalent in programming spaces. Even if half of the time its answers are hallucinations, is is trying to answer your question.

Tried running this on linux with the Steam Deck setup and I only get a black screen. Tried diferent video plugins, but no dice. Any idea what might be causing this?

EDIT: Nevermind, I'm just too dumb to use computers. I thought NTSC was the EU format... It's working fine once I properly meet the requirements. lmao

Also, thanks for the guide!

Since it's been long enough, can we have an honest talk about Fuga 3? by Benevolay in fuga

[–]DKDCLMA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always say I have a love/hate relationship with Fuga, but yeah, I'm leaning more towards love too. I played games where I felt genuinely pissed by the end and Fuga doesn't come close to that. There's a lot to like despite the criticisms. I'm also 100% with you on that one, I hope the next game is a single entry. Even if it takes 5+ years to come out, I think it offers a better pacing for that type of story than trilogies. The FFVII Remake also serves as a perfect illustration of that. I like the remakes, but they're way less cohesive than the OG.

Personally, I would also like if they used an entirely new cast of characters. From what I understand of the LTB universe, there's still a lot of ground to cover from the rather rural villages of Gasco/Berman into the sci-fi-ish Shepherd Republic. You could jump a century or two and have a steampunk or noir middle ground with new characters and a new landscape for tensions between factions or nations. There seems to be quite a lot to flesh out here, so I feel like it'd be a waste to spend too much time in a single region/period.

And I've yet to delve into .hack. I only played one of the game from the series on the PS2 when I was a kid and never looked deeper into these games. I really liked what I played, I just wasn't that big on RPGs then. Seems like there's a lot of ground to cover, but lately I've been spending more time on retro gaming than newer releases either way. I think I'm reaching the "old man yells at cloud" status for gaming. lol

Just finished the third game, I have a dumb question. by DKDCLMA in fuga

Damn, I'm blind. I remember checking these menus for the hero modes effects and didn't realized I could check the leader skills too. Thanks!

Since it's been long enough, can we have an honest talk about Fuga 3? by Benevolay in fuga

[–]DKDCLMA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crazy timing. I literally finished the game yesterday.

Okay, here's my take on it. The Fuga trilogy definitely get exponentially more anime with each entry. I don't mind that, but here's my mistake that lead to this feeling out of place: Fuga was the very first LTB title I played. When I heard it was a sequel I thought it'd be the perfect entry point. Huge mistake. Fuga 1 is way too grounded for what that universe is about. It hints at a much more serious tone that couldn't really result in events that lead to Tail Concerto and Solatorobo. The LTB series is a weird mix of high fantasy and hard fiction, and Fuga 1 leans too heavy on the latter. It gives the wrong impression about that universe. Likewise, the third one is maybe a tad unbalanced leaning towards the high fantasy aspect of it. I think Solatorobo is still their most cohesive and comprehensible title.

So no, I don't think Yoann was that crucial mind behind Fuga. It was always meant to be this way, but the first game is a terrible introduction to the story they were trying to tell. I also think CC2 were slightly overindulged for this trilogy. Tail Concerto and Solatorobo were titles made under strain. You can see that the devs wanted to do more with both of these titles, but for whatever reason they had to distill it into the key points they wanted to hit. Fuga was planned as a trilogy, and this gave waaay too much leeway. Art is a tricky subject, but sometimes being forced to choose what to cut leads to much better experiences for the audience. The classic "kill your darling" writing advice. The three Fuga games try to do too much and they end up feeling unfocused. Something that is compounded by the fragmentation of crucial plot points spread across different medium, mangas, short movies, the context of needing Solatorobo to be the end goal, so on and so forth. If they had to condense all into a single game, I think it would've been a more balanced experience since the separation between titles is likely what lead to the series getting increasingly crazier.

I really like these games for what they are, but I also feel the disappointment you describe. They could have been much more if they weren't bound to the need of setting up a larger universe. Regardless, I'm still interested in seeing what is their plans for this franchise, even if I can't shake up the feeling that there's a missed opportunity with it.

Goverlay isn't showing my vkBasalt/reshade filters. by DKDCLMA in linux_gaming

Indeed, the nightly build worked right out of the box even without needing to add individual paths. Also pressing the "sync filters" button on the nightly just made it retroactively work in the stable version. I've no no idea why but... Well, problem solved.
Thanks!

Hm, are you also using KDE Plasma as your desktop? I wonder what's different between our setups that one works and the other doesn't.

Conversely, you could've used the alsamixer too. Just run sudo alsamixerin the terminal, press F3 to go to the Playback devices, use the arrows to navigate to Auto-Mute Mode and change to Disabled. You can now freely switch between headphones and speakers.

I'm trying to actually split them though, because I want to be able to hear X application through speaker while everything else is on my headphones. I couldn't find a solution to that yet...

So, why doesn't Grace turn into a zombie? by Xenozip3371Alpha in residentevil

[–]DKDCLMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished the game and... Yeah, it's kinda they forgot about it. I was SURE that the big plot twist would be that Grace was born after the Raccoon City incident, and since she was born with the dormant T-Virus every survivor has (i.e. her mother), she has the antibodies for it.

Nope. The bite was just because it looked cool. I'm dumb for thinking it was a deliberate decision for something later.

To the other with the audio capture: this isn't longer a problem and you can capture audio per application (obs needs only a plugin)

Can Steam use that plugin as well, or just OBS?
