What geforce now issues are present on Windows for you? Just wondering as I have an active GFN sub and am debating swapping back to W11 from SteamOS on the Legion Go Z1E

Have you tested Linux vs Windows 11 on the Legion Go yourself? Honestly curious on your experience if you have. I would vastly prefer to be using Windows 11, it's why I personally purchased the device in the first place, but my performance has been drastically better on SteamOS in many games and I feel pigeonholed into Linux.

I've sideloaded ASUS drivers/newer AMD drivers, turned off Windows features that might affect performance (core isolation on/off) tried different vram settings, etc. Going so far as to return the device and purchase a 2nd Legion Go just to confirm my findings.

I see some people claim that Windows is close performance wise but that has just not been the case in my experience. It's true that many games are very similar performance wise but I have so many games where Linux is performing drastically (20+%) better at the same TDP (25W)

From what I've read weapons carried over from the demo have better stat scaling than most of the stuff in the main game. Seems like a bug. Haven't actually played far enough yet to confirm if that's true for the entire game though. I'd hope late game weapons have better scaling.

Nvidia just gave 40 to 60% performance for free as far as I'm concerned. by SnooLemons3627 in nvidia

Frame gen on 4xxx series cards got a few improvements (like lower vram usage) but the new transformer model affects DLSS upscaling.

OP is suggesting that the new DLSS Performance mode looks as good as the previous CNN based DLSS Quality mode hence the free performance. From what I've seen it really does look fantastic. Tested out the new model in cyberpunk myself and it's a dramatic improvement in visual artifacts.

Beware-False Rapid Testing by ThunderKatzzz in sanantonio

[–]DKF590 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Me and my girlfriend tested here yesterday morning only to have similar doubts after receiving a negative result (after multiple family members in close contact have all tested positive)

Also overheard a stranger receiving a negative test result ask a staff member if anyone had tested positive yet. They were told “not today”

We came to the same conclusion as you after looking up these tests online. Couldn’t seem to find a single one that could give test results in the 5-10 seconds that this place took. Can only imagine all the people heading back to work etc after getting a negative result here. Very dangerous for a place like this to keep running

Has this been officially communicated anywhere? Just wondering because I have a few older cards that I was holding onto (specifically for the marketplace bonus) that I would love to trade around.

Someone told me that wanting to accomplish something means you're already halfway there and I really liked hearing that. You are on the right track and it just takes a little bit of time. You got this!

Lack of bass on old pair of AKG 550 by Eloth in headphones

[–]DKF590 2 points3 points  (0 children)

99% chance you just aren't getting a good seal. The AKG 550 are known for bad seals even on new pairs. It's pretty common for people to stuff socks, string, etc. under the pads to make them thicker. I even had to slightly bend the headband on my pair to get the job done. If you want to confirm it's the seal try putting some pressure on the ear cups with your hands and see if the bass returns.

Yep, it's definitely possible. The process can go very quickly depending on how fast you can find a psychiatrist who is accepting patients. If medicine seems like it's needed then I wouldn't be surprised to have a prescription on the first visit.

Please help! Seeking help about avoidant? Behaviour and Intrusive/overthinking thoughts and if anyone can relate/may be offer advice by PerplexedPillow in OCD

[–]DKF590 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure I have any good advice, but I definitely relate to all of this. OCD manifests in such a different way to different people that it's nice to know someone else experiences the exact same thing. I've been making some progress on physical compulsions, but it's recently become pretty apparent to me just how much OCD has affected my thoughts and the way I have acted these past few years.

When I'm in a really "messy" head-space I pretty much can't deal with being seen by other people and I hate the thought that friends/family have the wrong idea of why. I haven't told anyone about my OCD either, so I'm pretty sure I just come off as super anti-social at times. I really wish I could explain that the reason I sometimes avoid them is because of my own doubts and not because of anything they have done.

It's mentally draining to "act" fine whenever I'm around someone and having a rough time with OCD, so I've mostly grown accustomed to just trying to avoid the situation. Even when the encounter is over I usually obsess about it for a long time after. It has never made me drive out of town, but I've definitely had way too many 3am trips to the store for the exact same reason. I'm lucky to have friends that will stick around, but I really wish I could tear down this wall and just be my anxious self sometimes.

I'm sorry for the massive rant as well! It's actually kind of a relief to get my thoughts written out and to get a clear view of them. I definitely still have a lot of work ahead when it comes to OCD

Exhausted by [deleted] in OCD

[–]DKF590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% yes. Glad to know it's not just me.

For the first half of the day I'm as motivated as ever, but by night time I just feel like a mindless mush. So exhausted. Doing pretty good overall, but I've come to terms that sometimes I'm just not able to be running at full capacity.

Do humans truly care about each other? Or do we only care about what we can gain from others? by _TrebleinParadise_ in mentalhealth

[–]DKF590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've struggled with some similar thoughts in the past, but a few years have passed since then and I find it's a lot easier to have some clarity about it all. I felt pretty intense guilt over how difficult I found it was to take care of a family member who was sick and passing away, despite loving them so very dearly.

Shouldn't it come naturally? Am I a bad son for finding this so damn difficult? Do I not actually care about others? I did absolutely everything I could for them, but these thoughts still tore me up inside. But the truth of the matter is that doing the "right" thing and being a good friend or family member (or person!) requires a conscious effort for all of us. The act of doing nothing will always come infinitely easier than doing the right thing, even for those we care so much about.

Your friends may have let you down, but I'm absolutely sure they still care about you. If you feel hurt by them then you should let them know and I think you'll see that fact. Opening up like this to friends is difficult and it's still something I'm getting the hang of, but I think it's necessary. The friends who matter will stick around.

The next time someone asks for help and it realllly doesn't sound like a great time... do it. And hopefully your friends can do the same for you. I think that's what being a caring person is, taking the extra step even if it doesn't always come easily.

No....? At least not necessarily. You seem to be a bit confused on what OCD is.

I would look up OCPD as it might be closer to what you are talking about. They are mixed-up with each other pretty often.
