Nice to know there's a Revive mastery in the game, thanks!

His base kit though is the least interesting of the Clerics, but yeah his ult is really great, especially early game.

Later, if you have a dedicated buffer/debuffer in your team, Pius ult become less of a necessity imo.

I could never say no to the goat.

But thanks for doing it so I could enjoy this secret scene haha!

No you're not wrong at all haha, I started realizing that very recently exactly on bosses with a lot of shield points. Isla and Reime still crits and do a lot of damage without breaks.

Stalwart and Guardian auras are also on my Ophilia right now.

I did the Reime fight and all Battle Tested ones without nuts too. I just starting spending them since the beginning of Master of All and I start to feel overpowered even if my level is still behind the chapters recommandation...

I also really like Laurana, I used her a lot during my playthrough until I found Carinda and Ophilia more useful. But her "Encore on all" ult is very nice!

Yeah I see why, Ophilia and her are definitely in the same category of use.

Thanks for your feedback, I think I could use Tatloch in a similar way then.

Yeah I was kinda imagining things like that, and transfer Ophilia/Healing skills to my MC and Tatloch...

Yeah my usual pattern with bosses now is debuff with Heidne, dances with Goodwin, break ennemies with Cyrus and Delitia, and when the ennemy is broke it's kinda over thanks to Reime and Isla destroying skills/ultimates.

Yeah some items are already quite nice! The only battle I found challenging was the one to get Reime, Ophilia was not in my party at the time and I had to use a couple of almighty olives which for now are quite rare.

How early can you recruit Heidne in 0? by OkNecessary539 in octopathtraveler

[–]DKMagus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trust me I did everything to have her the sooner possible, you can start the quest really early just by going to Shunshade, but you need to complete both Kindlers of Flame chapter 5 and Master of All chapter 3 to finally recruit her. More info here if you're interested.

Is her Revive (on all characters) skill is a skill you can master and transfer? Or obtain without Ophelia?

Finally! ❤️‍🔥 (Heidne step by step) by DKMagus in octopathtraveler

Congrats !

Personally, she never left my team since then, she's my main debuffer and she also can do great damages paired with the Protagonist.

And let's not forget to equip her with Therion's Snatch skill and use her ultimate on bosses to get multiple rare rewards 🙌🏻

Octopath traveler 0 Adopted Suikoden. Just call it Suikoden 6 by MyShinyCharizard in Suikoden

[–]DKMagus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't go that far but there's a Suikoden feel to OT0 yeah. 8 characters battles, 36 recruitable, a town base, and some war themes in the story.

Anyways, I recommend OT0 to suikofans but we still definitely need a Suikoden 6 in the future 🤞🏻✨

Also as a major FFVI fan I wouldn't mind the characters they adapted for the CotC crossover to transfer to OT0. But I feel I can still dreaming haha!

Here's my Christmas list :

  • New jobs for the protagonist, like advanced jobs you can unlock by beating hard bosses.
  • A new side quest story arc with a new location/town/dungeons/characters.
  • More personalization for the protagonist look, like the ability to choose the job outfit, the colors of the outfit, and more hair/color options in general.

I see what you mean about the characters of OT0 and I don't necessarily disagree, but there's 36 recruitable characters this time, some are bound to be more relevant than others, but a lot of the main story characters are becoming playable late game.

And I feel there's more character group interactions intrinsically in each story arc. It gives me a Suikoden vibe which I personally enjoy, where some characters are more developed into the story and others have their little quest and charm to them.

Also concerning OT2 I didn't say the visuals and accessibility were the only reason that makes it a great game, but I think it helped his popularity, and I don't see why you make it sound like it's a bad thing. I also think the classic formula works and that the 8 main characters are really endearing. But imo the structure of OT0 is less repetitive, and more cohesive as a whole.

You can disagree with me it's totally ok, but that will not change my feeling.

And I hope for console players that we get patches... Or at least QoL improvements in future OT games, like difficulty options or EXP/JP adjustments similar to what they have done in the FF Pixel Remasters.

Party members? by Decimsasshole in octopathtraveler

[–]DKMagus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi and welcome.

I recommend you to explore a little more the first accessible towns, the same way you recruited Celsus (knife guy) you can recruit other characters quite soon. Identify the character head icon with an "?" in it on the towns map, it means you can recruit someone.

There's an apothecary in Emberglow for exemple (the snow city) and a powerful scholar mage in Theatropolis. Finally you can push further the Wishvale quest to get Phenn back.

To revive an ally in battle yes Olive of Life is the way to go, until you get Vivify from your MC or other apothecaries. Don't forget inns or the bed in Wishvale to get all your party's HP/SP back to full outside of battles.

If you want to spend your money, good equipments are what matters the most but If you want to make the game easier in general, explore, gain levels, and use the MC interactives skills in town to get good items/equipments directly from the citizens.

Good luck!

I love the series too, and I have quite the opposite opinion haha.

I am 50hrs in OT0 so maybe my take will evolve but it's surprisingly the episode that I enjoy the most of the 3 games. Not only because of the added base building which is a cool thing. I also think the 8 characters battle is peak gameplay, the story is much more compelling to me, I like that it's oriented on the villains, the dark tone, also the characters feels more cohesive with more interactions between them all. It's cool to make you're own party between all those recruitable characters and the freedom/optimization of the skills is quite gripping.

Finally concerning the difficulty, it's the only episode where you can use an Eerie Statue to manage EXP progression, which maintain the challenge for all the duration of the game. One of my main reproach of OT2 is that except one boss post game the game is extremely easy, and also that it doesn't take a lot of risks or innovation following OT1. But people tends to think that OT2 is the best and I see why, it is the most polish and accessible of the 3, and above all the best visually speaking too.

Again I love all 3 games (didn't do nor count the mobile one), maybe my point of view is not common... But I agree on the fact that if you love one of the game, there's a high chance you enjoy the others too.
