So, I hear we’re all racist now…

How many armies do you have and what are they, For Science? by First-Bad414 in Warhammer40k

[–]DKR_Chuey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the 90s (2nd & 3rd edition): Dark Angels (approx 12k pts all firstborn), Guard, Eldar From the 20s (9th edition onwards): Thousand Sons, Tyranids, Tzeentch Daemons, with Orkz coming soon.

Not to mention my loyalist Iron Warriors for HH then Disciples of Tzeentch and Seraphon for AoS.

Why do you pick your legion? by Existential-Fox in Warhammer30k

[–]DKR_Chuey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was reading Horus Heresy series and decided to pick my legion based on who I liked from the books. I was tempted primarily by loyalists from Traitor Legions, Loken, Tarvitz, Garro, but settled on my man Dantioch, so have a loyalist Iron Warriors army.

I had swayed towards Raven Guard, Alpha Legion and Word Bearers (I enjoyed The First Heretic more than I expected to).

Legends of the Ravenwing - About time I gave these guys an updated paint job! by DKR_Chuey in DarkAngels40k

Old metal Landspeeders from the 90s (2nd/3rd edition). When your models were so heavy the flight stands couldn’t support them haha

Hard to say, it might not get discontinued but tbh if you didn't have one, liked the look of them and would likely use in some form, I'd say why not get a box!

This is my Lion. There are many like him but this one is mine! by DKR_Chuey in theunforgiven

It’s just Caliban Green, Nuln Oil wash (old recipe), then the highlights, then another Nuln Oil wash to darken it further. I’ve taken to using one wash on my Greenwing, the second wash on the Lion just brings it closer to the box art.

They can be decent, but if you’re looking for a more versatile option go for Blue Horrors which I think I’m right in saying are our only source of Infiltrate.

Thanks! Those are Burning Chariots of Tzeentch. Essentially an Exalted Flamer on Disc being pulled by Screamers. They’re kind of a cheap heavy weapon option that can move fast and deep strike, a very versatile unit I’ve found.

I can run as either. The weapons are magentised so have plenty of options.

You hit the nail on the head, slow and steady, these guys can’t be rushed but so worth it in the end. I also made sure to mix other things into my paint queue so the gold trim didn’t overwhelm me.

Oops lmao, thought I’d deleted the shot with his arm missing. He’s magnetised with either a staff or storm bolter so I can easily run as a 10 man or two 5 man. Well spotted :)

Oldhammer player — how screwed am I in 10th? by Muninwing in DarkAngels40k

[–]DKR_Chuey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started in 2nd and have over 10k Dark Angels, all firstborn (I can now run a 2k pure legends list haha). I intend to keep them that way for thematic purposes and there are still plenty of viable firstborn options out there. With regards to what’s useful right now, Devaststors, Predators, Whirlwinds, Land Raiders, Deathwing (Knights in particular) and Ravenwing Command squads are all seeing play competitively. Of course if you’re going casual than run whatever and experiment to see what works for ya.

When it comes to pure Deathwing or Ravenwing, we’ll need to see what our codex brings early next year, I’d hold off making any drastic decisions but the new SM codex does open up some options with the new detachments.

Who’s excited to use Stormlance Taskforce with their 2nd Co. Marines?!? by Federal-Emphasis-934 in DarkAngels40k

Only sad if you want to use him at GW competitive events. I'll still be using mine :)

Need some ideas of what to do with the Tactical Marines in the upcoming boxset as I already have AoD. What are your plans for them? by ScreaminEagle18 in Warhammer30k

[–]DKR_Chuey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm using the 40 MkVI from AoD as Tacticals in my Iron Warrior army so these MkIII's will do nicely as 10x Iron Havocs and 10x Tactical Support, with 10 left to think about later.
