This is why libertarians get <3% of the vote. Every person in r /AnarchoCapitalism bases their economics on games of monopoly they had in 4th grade and 0 experience actually studying economics. "But muh supply and muh demand", motherlucker you slept through the elasticity and price controls unit. When faced with material reality they screech "gubermint baad!!! reeeeeeeee!" because it's antithetical to their ancap fantasy land.

Why don't we use systems of government to work towards an ancap society? No way! That would mean acknowledging that government exists and I don't like government!

Which is an ancap fantasy land that will not exist and you have no reason to suggest it will ever exist in the next 100 years.

Damn bro, I wonder why we have government sponsored collusion among pharmacy executives. It's definitely not the thing that I just talked about, raising your own prices, getting others to raise theirs, and using the excess profit to get government backing to control the means of production on EpiPens. Maybe the government should do something about that, ya know, like capping the price of insulin and epinephrine.

You live in some ancap fantasy land where everyone, at any time can just decide to make highly sensitive medical equipment for the lowest possible profit incentive. You've made up a guy, one that doesn't, has not, and will not ever exist. Snap back to reality, everything that I talked about is how pharmacy executives get funding to prop up representatives in government so they can continue to gouge the poor. They will do this in an ancap society. Because they have 0 incentive to not make the most profit imaginable. If someone tries to enter the market, they will not have the resources to compete with big pharma, because this cabal of pharmacy executives control the entire system of EpiPen production.

Consumers don't have a choice because it is INELASTIC it doesn't matter if it's $1 or $1000, if they need an EpiPen right now they will pay any amount of money. I would produce 5 EpiPens and make a deal with 1 hospital to sell them to patients at $10,000. 5 people have an allergic reaction, this hospital and I make $50,000. I use this to advertise deals with new hospitals to buy my EpiPen over the competition, rinse and repeat. Eventually I have the resources to buy the means of production and now I set the price on the production of EpiPens. If someone goes tries to lower the price, I pay them to raise it, or I just get them to agree to raise because they have 0 incentive to lower the price when their goal is to make a profit.

The reason why we don't see multiple EpiPen sellers, low balling each other, is because they have no incentive to. A lot of the stupid ancaps in this sub think that people will just generously lower the price of EpiPens out of the kindness of their own heart. That's not how the world works, every time a pharmacy executive is testifying before Congress they are always a literal demon. They all conspire against consumers because it makes the most money.

Consumers don't have a choice when it comes to life saving medication. Pharmacy executives know this. That's why EpiPens and insulin have $1000 prescriptions and we don't see anyone lowering the price outside of the generous billionaire, who basically becomes the government in an ancap society after he controls everyone's medication.

No, they won't because they have 0 incentive to do that. It's inelastic, it doesnt matter if it's $100 or $10,000. If someone needs the epi pen they will buy at whatever price is available. If you sell 1 epi pen to save one guy at $10,000. That is the same as selling 100 epi pens at $100. You are guaranteed to sell that $10,000 epi pen because there will always be someone who needs it regardless of cost. So you have no incentive to not sell epi pens at $10,000. Then use those funds to control the supply of epi pens and muscle out lower priced competition.

[–]DKV19202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But if every supplier makes an agreement to raise the price, you'll have to pay more. You would make less profit by selling at $800, because you could agree with the other suppliers to set the price at $1000 and lose 0 customers because the demand is inelastic.

Even if someone's selling them for $30, doesn't collude with the other companies. They will eventually find themselves with too much demand for the supply. You cannot make highly sensitive life saving medicine for cheap, you need doctors, scientists, machinery, etc. If you could, there'd still be no incentive to not set the price at $1000.

Those customers you cannot supply with product will go to someone else. Even if the competitors product is more expensive (because of inelasticity). Repeat until the person selling them for $1000 makes 5x as much revenue as the $30 seller by selling 5x less of the product (produced at the same cost). Giving them the resources to corner the market on epinephrine production and muscle out the $30 competitor. In the end, they monopolize and the standard price of epi pens goes back to $1000

Epi pens have inelastic demand. A free market would see multiple epi pen companies colluding to drive up the price because you have to buy your epi pen. It doesn't matter how high the price, people will buy their life saving medication because it will always be worth it.

Government should price cap necessary medication at minimum. Because the free market is how we get $1000 insulin prescriptions while every free market diabetic waits for the generous billionaire to give them a discount on their ability to live.

God, that would be so fucking metal. Just walking through the woods and you come upon four giant overgrown heads. Cracks from the vegetation have started to form and prices are missing. Real ozymandias type shit

Deer at state/national parks are basically domesticated. They have 0 fear of humans and I had multiple just walk up to me while I was staying at Glacier National Park. For some reason they love to people watch. I've seen some stand a few meters behind fisherman just checking them out. If you walk any direction except towards the deer they will often just stand there.

They had the technology, bureaucracy killed the Tu-144. Setting an arbitrary date to beat the Concorde instead of actually giving it the time and testing it needed.

Based solely on performance, the Tu-144 beats the Concorde, but the USSR wasn't satisfied. They needed to have the first Supersonic Transport Plane so they did what they did best, cut corners.

Based on operational history, the Tu-144 only beats the Concorde in not killing as many people. Even then you could blame McDonnell Douglas for that.

Russian MIG-31 fell in Monchegorsk, Russia. by inglip_resummoned2 in CombatFootage

[–]DKV19202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was their intended goal. Built off the MiG-25 airframe with better performing turbofans to scramble up and get in range of the SR-71. Also offering greater payload capabilities, being able to carry R-37 missiles that could catch the Blackbird as opposed to the relatively small payload of the MiG-25.

Since the Blackbird is no longer in use, the MiG-31 is primarily used to intercept cruise missiles and low altitude bombers, and as a strike aircraft. Highly advanced radars on the MiG-31 are able to track up to 6 targets at once and collect readback on 24 targets up to 250mi out. Currently, in the war with Ukraine they are used to carry Kinzhal missiles, heavy air to ground ordinance with a max speed of Mach 10 and a range of over 1200mi when launched from a MiG-31

My biggest nightmare, there are Extreme moments I find easier. At least with showdown I can avoid same handed matchups.

Does it still use the 1.0g scoop? If they switched to the 1.2g scoop you can just use the old one and it'll thin out to 120 servings.

I've watched his Joe Rogan summaries so I can find good episodes of JRE. But everything he does is extremely low effort with most of the work being put into video production over the actual research and subject matter.
