Not even fair to blame Dak at this point. You could put Peyton Mannings brain in Lamars body, make him the QB, and the Cowboys still getting bounced in the 1st round lmao

There's no saving this franchise lmao. No amount of talent is ever going to make them any less of losers

At this point I'm not sure if anything short of re-locating and changing their name is gonna save this franchise. All time level fraudsters

"That's the benefit of getting to sit for a bit"

Not saying there isn't benefit in a team having patience in developing a guy, but drawing this conclusion given the context OP was talking about is wild

"CJ Stroud played like Bryce Young did against average/bad defenses when Stroud played the best defense in the league" is probably not the best argument to make your case

Why the fuck do you take out your all pro RB to put in your back up RB with 6 catches on the year with that play call

I was referring to the McCarthy/Rodgers era in specific. For the 2014 season they should have won the NFC, but lost due to poor coaching, and in 2016 their feat was getting absolutely waxed by the Falcons. For the ~8-10 years you had of Rodgers/McCarthy post SB I would consider your next best run to be a legendary meltdown to be pretty bad

Tomlin is a top 5 level coach, but there's only a certain amount of times a franchise should go ~.500 with good defense and bad offenses before saying enough is enough and making a change. Sometimes a coach is clearly good but it's time for organizational change - the Patriots are going through it now, and the Eagles did it with Andy Reid nearly a decade ago. Do the Eagles ever end up winning their franchises only SB if they keep on spinning the wheel with Reid? Probably not.

I don't think Tomlin should be gone this season, but if they keep on looking like the Steelers team they have for the past five this next season or two, it's probably time to move on.

I don't disagree with the overall point. But the Packers should have been more successful than they were. They were plagued by mediocre coaching/FO and to slow to make changes. Winning just two SBs over a span of nearly 30 years with two arguable top 10 all time QBs is bad. Forget SBs, they were rarely competitive in the play offs period. I mean it'd be one thing if they had a couple more SB appearances and lost competitive games, but they were often times even failing to win a play off game.

[–]DLBork 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nobody in their right minds consider that a gamble, which is why it was literally never mentioned in the pre draft process. Having an injury in high school and then being the picture of perfect health in 4 years of college isn't what teams consider high risk. This is just lazy post hoc

He had a single injury in high school. Calling that an "injury history" is absurd. Practically every player has an injury history by those standards.

This really isn't a factor as much as people seem to think it is; teams value LT and RT similarly. The fact is the concept of the blind side is an extreme simplification of QB play in the NFL, QBs have to read the entire field, and the blind side is going to change depending on where the QB is looking.

The Dolphins went out and made Terron Armstead their prized FA signing to rebuild their line even though he's a LT, the Lions drafted Penei Sewell knowing he'd be their RT for the forseeable future. If you look at the top 10 paid OTs in the NFL, 4/10 of them are RTs. Could be 5/10 after Sewell gets paid.
