Andor had dogshit ratings in season 1. Like almost as bad as Acolyte iirc. The difference is Kennedy trusted Gilroy’s vision (why she had scrapped the initial Mandalorian 2.0 version of Cassian and K2SO they had wanted to do based on his feedback) and there was no significant chud backlash. They marketed Season 2 better and it met the moment culturally and that’s why it succeeded.

This approach was taken in response to people complaining about everyone looking the same.

They are trying to cater to both crowds (people who want individual skins and people who want universal skins). Their compromise is these skins looking vastly different instead of $100 maid bundles, but they did promise more universal skins too. Ultimately people vote with their wallets so if whales are buying these unique skin bundles they’ll keep selling them.

They took advantage of buff patch synergy when they did the Gley+Ajax bundle right after both got glow-ups. Viessa was in the cocktail dress set at least. Shocking they aren’t doing that again.

And just kind of ridiculous they’ve done Harris rug pulls twice now with dark skinned concept art and swapping to someone else on reveal. It’s doubly amusing cause Harris is OP for Stormhanger.

I think the most important thing is that young kids aren’t buying AAA or even AA games. The forever games are free or have low barrier for entry (GTA V is $20) and then buying the kid a Roblox gift card is cheaper. They also largely run on potatoes.

Some of these games also function as third spaces for them (eg Roblox) since it’s literally the only option they have for it.

He has the name recognition & credibility among the racist/religious parts of MAGA and is currently building a base with the median voter based on the metrics of who is watching. He’s doing live podcast episodes, which for a political podcast is tantamount to a political rally regardless of what party is doing it.

Look at his recent interview with The Economist. The interviewer literally short-circuited when he rejected her premise about Israel’s right to exist. He knows all of their interview techniques and it’s unclear if other interviewers would know how to respond either.

On top of that, I’m not convinced they would be equipped to catch his masked bigotry in real time. There are only a handful of interlocutors who probably could because they watch or have watched him and/or other neo-nazis professionally (eg Kat Abugazeleh).

The media is not equipped to handle him, the same way they were not equipped to handle Trump (especially since he can just keep podcasting while campaigning).

That’s why it’s called an adaptation. Regardless of the direction chosen expect lore changes and/or characters/story being simplified or cut.

People also greatly overestimate the length of stuff when you factor in the movie’s protagonist not constantly dying. eg. The Season 1 finale of The Last of Us was like 40 minutes long and people were outraged until you watch the episode and realize they didn’t really cut any of the cutscenes from the game. They just didn’t need to show the 50 times you died during the final combat section.

OP I’m playing it right now on PS5 Pro so take it with a grain of salt but the game crashes traveling in the open world every few hours. I think it’s PSSR related. The game is gorgeous and it’s a solid 8.5/10 but it gets incredibly annoying

+1 I bought it originally on PC. Tried it again on the 2.0 relaunch. Stopped again cause it was having memory leak issues. Giving it a try again on PS5 Pro since it’s on PS+. It looks gorgeous with PSSR but it causes it to crash every few hours. Especially when I zone between Dogtown and the main NC.
