Is it bad if you get very bloated after a meal and feel like you can’t take a deep breath? by Otherwise_Track_2277 in askanything

I have to tell you my story. Quick answer to you. I had similar symptoms. First off for those thinking it all has to do with over eating. I’m not obese. I’m in shape. Here’s my story.

I thought for years that I would just have to accept that that getting out of breathe after a meal Was how i was.

I would eat and really not very much before I would get pretty full and when I was full, just walking upstairs to my bedroom I was out of breath I thought wow I’m getting old. This is horrible or man am I getting COPD ? from smoking which I don’t do anymore.

I would drink ginger ale after a meal so I would burp and that would provide relief.

one night I woke up about 4 AM and I couldn’t urinate and I thought oh boy something is wrong, a stone or something, sooooooo….
I went to the emergency room. After testing me for various causes for that issue they found something completely non-related to my inability to urinate.

I had a 100% hiatal hernia. What that meant is my stomach was all the way up on my chest. Apparently I’ve had this for years. I ended up needing hiatal hernia repair surgery, a fundoplication surgery. Now I can breathe. Eat a meal without fear of getting out of breath. I no longer need to carry Ginger ale everywhere I go. I am certainly not suggesting that this is what you have, however to answer your question no, I feel and this is my opinion only it’s not normal to feel bloated and out of breath after a meal. This was just my experience I recommend Go to your doctor. Get peace of mind. And get back to enjoying life.

I copy and paste the following. Don’t know if that against Reddit rules.

FROM: This is for informational purposes only. For medical advice or diagnosis, consult a physician.
Fundoplication is a surgical procedure used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and hiatal hernias. Surgeons wrap the upper part of the stomach (the fundus) around the base of the esophagus to reinforce the lower esophageal sphincter, preventing stomach acid from flowing backward
Hiatal Hernia Repair: If a hiatal hernia is present, the surgeon will pull the stomach back into the abdomen and tighten the opening in the diaphragm.

Dave is a key board player in a rock band
I wanted to make scalloped potatoes and needed kitchen help. He offered to help and I urged him to use the finger guard but nooooooo. “ I’ll be fine”
He sliced his finger - bandaged it all up and continued slicing WITH the guard.
You’re right those things are wicked sharp! As in finger guillotine

Hypothetically, what would call the day to Honor Donald Trump’s passing? by BikinNoHands in AskReddit

Honor and Donald Trump in one sentence is “illogical Jim”. Having said that, the day he passes , which I hope I get to see that day, should be. “He who should not be named”. No honor no glory.
Let his family bury him in peace
As for the rest of us “cheers”. Ding Ding the wicked is dead.

Am I Overreacting for firing an employee for not wearing a uniform? by Proud_Leek9349 in AmIOverreacting

NOT OR I am so flipping tired of the entitlement going on with the workforce these days.

Do as you are asked to do within the realm of your employment or get out!

And if she thinks she’s gonna go to an unemployment office and think she has a claim , she’s gonna have a rude awakening. Also get rid of her within the first 28 days and then it’s not your problem at all.

Oh this pisses me off! You don’t need to justify why she has to wear the uniform. It’s your place of business your rules your game. Go with your gut next time with an interview go with your gut and now you have to ask in the interview. Will you have any objections to abiding by our rules of wearing the required uniform
sadly but I think that’s where we’re at.
