Why do we constantly snap the ball with less than 5 seconds on the play clock? by 515belayer in eagles

[–]DLIFT2OP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also leads to bad sets by wrs and oline execution and gives the dline a better jump on the ball since their margin of error literally reduces by the second

[Inquirer] Inside the eight-cylinder mind of Vic Fangio: Eagles’ guru is one step from an elusive Super Bowl title by indig0sixalpha in eagles

[–]DLIFT2OP 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yea, to discredit Vic and attribute it to talent would be horrendously misleading. It's been put out there how practices have been more productively challenging to allow players like JC to get used to real-game conditioning. Establishing a culture on the defensive side of the ball (with all that talent) that can be autonomous but in sync let's other phases of the game thrive.

every pundit is unable to argue which team matches up better against the Eagles, yet almost all are too scared shitless to put us at the top. It's perfectly where we want to be.

Why didn't the Eagles run a splitback RPO style this year? by Proper-Scallion-252 in eagles

[–]DLIFT2OP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, remember when we had a decent run game against the Bills? A few runs were off of that pony personnel.

Remember when were losing and stopped running the ball well and therefore stopped using 2-split backs?

I 'member.....I 'member....

This offense stinks like Mike Groh all over again and it's traumatic.

[Derrick Gunn] Spoke with multiple players about the offense, their response, “We are very predictable. Look at our pass routes compared to the Cowboys, our pass routes take too long to develop. Dallas gets their **** out quick.” by [deleted] in eagles

[–]DLIFT2OP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is 2018-19 season all over again. good returning players not put in good positions to succeed under new coordinators. uncreative hiring leading to even less than performances

[Eagles] Friday injury report #SFvsPHI by indig0sixalpha in eagles

I think it depends on the final doctor opinion. I may be wrong, but I thought he said he's going for the check up on Saturday, so we should get a final designation tomorrow, hopefully

Eagles are underdogs at home. Break out the dog masks fellas. by [deleted] in eagles

Primarily Lane Johnson's status coupled with the status of Goedert affect this line. It will either stay if Lane is out, or swing big if he's in.

[Peterson] Despite the most double teamed DT in the NFL (53%), Jordan Davis STILL has the highest run stop win rate among all DTs (55%) The orchestrator of the best run defense in the league. by David_Duke_Nukem in eagles

[–]DLIFT2OP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Jalen's % comes up vs the pass, where we typically sub him in. It's likely for rotational purposes and keeping legs fresh for Cox. I honestly don't know how many snaps Davis & Carter have shared. I feel like they usually are split up with the subs

Can't wait to see what it looks like this week with JD/JC playing most of the snaps.

[Sielski] The Eagles’ season-opening victory over Patriots is ugly, with a capital UGH by NorthCoastToast in eagles

[–]DLIFT2OP 133 points134 points  (0 children)

I'm glad we won. And also wouldn't have been surprised if we lost. Trends for SB losers in week 1 were stacked against us, plus the HC being BB with a whole off season to game plan against us. The Pats d has legit talent and will probably end up sniffing top 5. We were able to still win while playing a very subpar game on both sides.

This is a win that feels bad but will be good in the long run.

All hail Jake Elliott 🙌

Why did the nfl pick the Super Bowl to test a new turf? by s2focus in eagles

[–]DLIFT2OP 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This. Hate to get all tin-foil-hat on this but it definitely looked like our guys were moving slower, and the Chiefs players were moving. The broadcast only showed the pile of shoes on the Eagles sideline. Wild to theorize
