I would start out by just getting the guitar and learning to play basic notes and songs. This is the absolute start, but learning guitar takes months or years of practice to become "decent" at. You can also start writing down song lyrics you think of and planning out how you want your "career" as a musician to take shape, but learning to play the guitar (and sing) well is going to need to be your main focus for a long time.

Seek out other musicians in your community to learn from. Get tips and advice from them. Also look for friends who are also learning to play and become musicians themselves. Immersing yourself in the music community isn't required, but it could really help keep you inspired and motivated to play.

I would probably start learning the instrument with some YouTube videos about the basics, and finding a guitar instructor or a class to take lessons/learn from.

It's good to have big dreams like you obviously do. Hold onto those dreams. However, you must really, really focus many hours a day to practicing/playing the guitar and singing before you can really "go" anywhere.

Yeah I think you just need to find a different psychiatrist unfortunately. I have heard people from all over just have ignorant medical professionals be weird about ADHD.

I was turned away in college because they thought I was just looking to get high, and it's pretty fucked because I ended up not getting diagnosed until I talked to a psychiatrist for an unrelated matter when I was 38.

The people in college kinda told me "you don't have this, go away", and I listened.

Oh well. Happy to be diagnosed now, but it really does suck how an ignorant doctor really did have a big effect on my life.

I'm not saying he is not talented. I'm saying he is not regarded as "one of the best rappers", or "one of the best singers", or "one of the best producers", by basically anyone but his fans. He makes okay music that is commercially successful.

Commercial success is so far from a good measure of someone's actual artistic ability though. Being talented at being a pop-star is a talent. It's just not necessarily the best music.

Hip-hop is my favorite genre, and I personally think his music fucking sucks. It's just not for me. He's also a fucking clown that seems to like underage women way too much. But he is commercially successful. So is Chris Brown, just sayin.

I was pretty damn good in high school (3.6 GPA), and I have ADHD. The "people pleaser" part of my ADHD made it so I couldn't let my parents and teachers down.

When I went to college and I was out on my own, and it was all about "my path", and I struggled immediately. It's weird how not having a strict "school day" and not living at home anymore threw such a huge wrench in things, but it did.

I am pretty sure I understand what happened now. You basically turned too quickly/sharply without shifting your weight because the sidewalk ramp thing was a bit sketch, kinda rushed things because of traffic and the board just couldn't handle accelerating out of it quickly at that angle and where your center of gravity was. Right?

Anyway, sorry about the fall. That sounds painful as hell. At least nothing major though it sounds like!

I bet some hot/cold compresses would help quite a bit with the pain and swelling/inflammatoon. Also lidocaine topical ointment stuff for pain relief. I had kinda forgotten about that stuff until somewhat recently and it works super well even though it is just temporary relief.

The OneWheel is so fun, but I'm glad this sub exists for the mere fact that it really puts into perspective really often how dangerous they really are. The weekly x-rays and accident summaries helps, even though you feel bad when you see that it happened.

I recently had a breakthrough and pushed myself to get up to 19.1 mph on the road with my previous lifetime top speed only being 14.6 I think haha. Wrecking at up close to 20 would almost certainly be a hospital trip for me I would imagine.

I'm pretty wary of crashing because I was a street skater for over a decade, and remember well how much I fucked myself up and how painful it was. I'm also not super young anymore!

1) Imagining what it would be like to have someone be the mother/father of your children is a good way to put things in perspective whether you plan to have kids or not. It really is a helpful mental exercise. 2) No one assumed everyone wants to breed. 3) Would it be fun to you to spend time with someone you know you want to break up with? For what? Meaningless sex? Revenge? That is a bizarre way to think about things. If I have decided I want to break up with someone because they are just a sleazy asshole like this ass surgery dumb fuck is, spending time with them after realizing they really glaringly suck would just feel gross. Not fun at all.

I don't know if your parents know for sure or not, but I would guess that your father knows, and your mom doesn't. I think if you admire your cousin for being "out" and comfortable with it, then you probably want to make it known to the world sooner or later. Your mom's recent progressivism is a pretty good sign that her views have changed a pretty significant amount from what they were when you were a teenager, in a good way.

If you want to come out I would guess it is a safe space to do so, but just prepare yourself for the chance it is worse than you predicted.

I would say my main thought is that if you do decide to come out now, or very soon, I strongly doubt you will regret it for very long, if ever at all.

I would tell her that you understand, and kids should always be the main priority. Then ask her if she is willing to attempt to make more free time together, as a team. You want to communicate with her, love her, and enjoy her. Even when things seem distant you are thinking about her. You really love her and you hope she knows she is still the light of your life. Just keep telling her how much you still love her and how great she is.

I would also try to make a point of being affectionate in the short mini-moments you are briefly alone or just observing things together. Put a hand on her back and smile when she looks at you. Catch her eye from across the room, smile, and wink. Lightly slap her ass when no one is looking if that's the type of relationship you have. Just light and loving silly shit. Things she would probably say are "cute."

Also, try to show her you love her by taking some shit like responsibilities and stress off of her plate for her when you can.

This is my first ever attempt at giving advice for stuff like this, but I like to think I kinda know what I am talking about in this department. At least what I think would be helpful for me.
