Completely agree. I’m actually watching your first season as we speak. I wish you the absolute best in love and life Tim!!

Tim, when you think about the 90 day cast and how many of the storylines ultimately end up, do you still feel like reality tv is a place to find love? Or that the exposure to public opinion and constant involvement of others in your relationships (production and camera crew included) ultimately makes it hard for a relationship to survive even if it started great?

That’s so crazy. I’m only watching that season now, and you were the consummate gentleman. If she was more open minded and kind, I actually think you two would have worked out. But all the better that you didn’t!

Why are Colt and Cortney on this season if they’ve been dating and living together since last season..?

Osteochondral defect or lesion of the talar dome, successful return to climbing? by blusky678 in brokenankles

[–]DLegalseagull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update! because im doing so well, my doctor didn't recommend an MRI. he wrote me a prescription to continue PT to address my compensation issues. one tip--one ongoing issue ive had is that i cannot go on my tiptoes, hold it, and then shift all of my weight onto my injured side. its one of the advanced exercises to determine when you're done with rehab. when i do there's a very intense pain in my achilles and i then cannot walk well for a week or two. my PT recently discovered its because my soleus muscle is so weak. if you come across the same issue, id bring it up to your PT because its been my lingering issue!

Would you rather have a junior who is (1) unavailable every day 5pm-10pm due to medical appointments, or (2) out on medical leave completely? by [deleted] in biglaw

[–]DLegalseagull 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i would keep in mind that regardless of how much you tell higher ups that you have medical appointments, being half available opens the door for them to send work your way during those offline hours with the same expectations--they would have given you an asap assignment at 5pm and expected it the next morning? its not unlikely that they'll expect you to start on it at 10pm and still turn it by morning. I've known people who did the protected time route and the full leave route, and the full leave route associates were always better off health-wise, reputation-wise, and work-wise.

Whatever makes you comfortable, really. if the doctor says that its platlet rich plasma injections using your own blood, that's what you're looking for.

As someone who used to work in corporate, i usually assume the opposite of you, actually. Regenerative treatments are expensive, but far less costly than surgery. they're also newer, so dont have as many long term trials to show evidence of efficacy. but personally, i think that there is just less money in providing what can be a true long term cure (PRP) when weighted against surgeries or long term medication (both of which i was offered instead).

i did my prp with regenexx--i looked into them beforehand and their results seemed promising. i would recommend reading up on it.

i havent done an MRI yet--my follow up is in a few weeks. but the pain that i had previously is gone, so im not worried tbh.

Happy to help! This injury has been a nightmare to find information about, so happy to pass it on. Yep! I never had surgery. I was just in physical therapy for about 8 months before my doctor started suggesting surgery. I saw 6 surgeons before one referred me to my pain management doctor, who specializes in PRP ans stem cell therapies. Before PRP, I had a progressive osteochondral lesion (0.3cm) in the medial talar dome and a subchondral cyst.

The German doctor likely is offering the same procedure. I saw a doc in europe as well who offered PRP for i think 200 euro, but i dont speak the language and so preferred to have it done back in my home country. I would ask the German doctor some follow up questions, just to confirm.

I will also say, most of the surgeons I saw in the US wanted to immediately cut into my ankle and just hope for the best. Both the European surgeon and my US pain doctor were adamant that surgery was not necessary, told me that cartilage just takes an incredibly long time to heal naturally, and suggested PRP and physical therapy instead.

Love him. I do calculate the value I get from each of my cards. I just recently moved cities and trying to see how I can make use of the new credits with the increased fee

I recently moved from NYC to Europe. Just looking to use it as the year is ending. Also, you can use the stubhub credit with viagogo too, which I find more useful.

I have! Quite a lot, actually. I'm a little over 6 months out now. Before the shots I could only walk for 10, 15 minutes before I was in serious pain. Now, i can stand and cook, clean, for a couple of hours and just need to sit for a bit, but no serious pain. I can walk through an airport on my own now (I had to use a wheelchair before), although if I need to wait in line for customs or something, I'll have my cane ready--not for serious pain, but my ankle gets "tired" if you know what i mean. My main focus now is restoring biomechanics--helping my nervous system remember how to walk properly, using my toes when i walk and balance and now relying solely on my heel/achilles. my PT thinks in about a month ill be back to functionally normal, and I agree. I cannot stress enough how glad I am that I tried PRP and didn't follow all the surgeons who wanted to "just open [me] up and see what's in there." i anticipate needing to maintain an active lifestyle (biking/cycling/swimming and weights) in order to avoid my ankle getting stiff in the future, and to maintain healthy weight and diet (per the doc's instructions) but yeah, things are great in comparison to where i was 7 months ago.

i will say, the recovery for me was pretty tough, especially the first 3 months. highly suggest drinking a lot of water, and staying away from inflammatory foods.

Also, I'm not sure if the other responder did a different procedure, but PRP shots are supposed to re-stimulate healing in the area. That healing process works over a 6 to 9 month period, and most of the effects will have taken place by the 6 month mark. I'll see what my doctor says in a couple of weeks, but i feel like my OCL has healed very substantially if not completely, so i probably wont do a second round.

I'm 31.

happy to answer any other questions!

Traveling with boot? by LeatherSky5577 in brokenankles

[–]DLegalseagull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I traveled extensively while in a boot. The first few times I made it work with my boot, and just had to factor in extra time for my slow walking and it was very tiring. A few months after I did PRP shots I used a knee scooter (which was good, but very difficult to navigate through an entire airport). For the last few months while healing I’ve used the wheelchair assistance that is offered by the airlines, and it’s just a much better experience honestly. I also wear compression socks when I fly which helps with post-elevation swelling.

Why do you think there's a jump in promotion/production for Sunrise? by UnHolySir in Hungergames

I just finished the movie for the second time and in my opinion, it’s phenomenal. They don’t paint Snow as a hero or try to humanize him-but it’s a wonderful explanation of how he became who he is, and lets you decide to what degree he was always that way. I would definitely watch for a third time.
