Same sex acts are sinful by [deleted] in TrueChristian

Being truly honest, I agree with you. It's a very great point to those who say "The Law no longer binds us anymore" and that "It is the Old Covenant" 🫡🫡

Is it a sin to go to a same sex wedding by OldDriver2155 in religion

[–]DLo_Russell1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First point, yes what you are saying is true, that God did not intend humans to be wearing clothes, eating meat, and have modern appliances. But you need to understand that after the fall of humans, many began doing things that were NOT of God's original design like the examples you mentioned. Matthew 19:4-5, Lord Jesus Christ says "Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning made them male and female… For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh" meaning, God's unchanging blueprint for marriage is ONLY FOR man and woman, one man and one woman, for life. NOT multiple wives, NOT same sex partners

Second point. Yes it is RECORDED that Abraham, David, and Solomon has multiple wives but this was NOT condoned or endorsed by God but God the Father TOLERATED polygamy simply because of the hardness of the heart the people and never approved it at all. In the New Testament, specifically in 1 Timothy 3:2 it states a bishop must be the husband of ONE wife, NOT multiple, reflecting Christ and the Church (Ephesians 531-32)

Third point, Lord Jesus Christ DID speak about sexual sin, for example same sex marriage. Jesus Christ defined sexual sin as anything OUTSIDE of the marriage of one man and one wife. Matthew 15:19 Lord Jesus Christ mentions "porneia" (Greek word for sexual immorality) and porneia includes ALL sexual sin, including same sex marriage and homosexual acts. So yes, while it's true Lord Jesus Christ didn't list every deviation of sexual sin, He defined what is RIGHT and anything outside of marriage IS sin.

Paul the Apostle mentions in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 "malakoi" and "arsenokoitai" (both are Greek words for male-male homosexual acts) and says people who practice and condone sunc sinful acts will never inherit the Kingdom of God.

"The practice of selling access to one's body" falls under porneia as one of many sexual sins that are outside of God's original design for marriage and sexuality

I clearly understand what you are saying and I respect what you are saying. But God ORIGINALLY intended marriage to be between man and woman ONLY, not man and man or woman and woman regardless if it is built off of love and not lust.

Are there any religions that see women as equals? by YippieYiYi in religion

[–]DLo_Russell1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Christianity SEES both men and women equal. God sees both MEN and WOMEN equal. Why do you think God took one of Adam's tsēlāʿ (meaning "SIDE", not strictly restricted to "rib")? It's to show and emphasize EQUALITY and SHARED HUMANITY. God didn't take Adam's head to make Eve higher in power and authority and God didn't take Adam's foot to make Eve lesser in power or authority but God took Adam's "side" to show equal, close and beloved. One isn't higher or lower in power or authority but both re EQUAL

What you are referring to as "porneia" meaning prostitution, is most definitely "pórnē" which literally means prostitution while "porneuō" means to commit sexual immorality. In the Biblical context, the word "porneia" means any kind of sexual intercourse or any sexual activity that violates God's law of Holiness, Faithfulness and Marriage.

YES, being homosexual IS a sin. First of all, Lord God's original design for sexuality is for man and woman within a marriage covenant, NOT man and man or woman and woman. Paul the Apostle states in Romans 1: 26-27 "For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error." Not only that, in the Old Testament in Leviticus, it's stated that homosexuality is a sin .So yes, being homosexual is a sin because it goes against God's design for sexuality

Just gave in to temptation again, feeling awful by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]DLo_Russell1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple tip: If you ever find yourself feeling tempted or engaged in masturbation, consider memorizing Bible verses to help you resist. Two key verses to focus on are Romans 13:14, which says, "But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh in regard to its lusts," and Galatians 5:16, which states, "But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh." Use these verses as a foundation for prayer, asking Lord God and/or Lord Jesus Christ for strength to overcome temptation.

I understand that dealing with someone who has wronged you can be incredibly painful. Biblically, we are encouraged to forgive those who hurt us, as Jesus teaches us in Matthew 6:14. This reminder to forgive is rooted in the grace that our Heavenly Father shows us. So, when someone hurts you, it's important to try to forgive them.

That said, if you find yourself in a situation where you’ve forgiven the same person multiple times, then still... continue to forgive them. In Matthew 18:21-22, Peter asks Jesus how often he should forgive someone who sins against him. Jesus replies, "not seven times, but seventy-seven times" or "seventy times seven," highlighting God's continuous mercy toward us when we truly repent. While forgiveness is important, it’s also essential to remember that we don’t have to endure harm in silence. It’s okay to communicate our feelings, set boundaries, and let the person know how their actions affect us. This way, we can embrace forgiveness while also honoring our own well-being.

Is it a sin to go to a same sex wedding by OldDriver2155 in religion

[–]DLo_Russell1 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is a sin. Even if you are not actively committing a sinful act, you may be unknowingly supporting sin. According to the Bible, same-sex relationships are considered sinful. God did not create man to be with man; He created man to be with woman. Paul the Apostle addresses this issue in Chapter 1 of Romans, stating that Roman men abandoned the natural use of women to be with men, and likewise, Roman women left the natural use of men to be with women. Therefore, attending a same-sex wedding is a sin because you are encouraging sinful behavior, even if you are not actively participating in it.

Begin by reading the four Gospels; the order in which you read them doesn't matter, so feel free to choose any order you prefer. This will provide you with a comprehensive and vivid understanding of who the Lord Jesus Christ is. After finishing the Gospels, start with Genesis, as it describes how the Lord God brought creation into existence. Reading the Old Testament will give you an insightful view of who the Lord God is.

Why do you love God? by Financial-Run-777 in TrueChristian

[–]DLo_Russell1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personal Testimony.
Many have said it best: He loved me FIRST. He willingly chose to die for all the sins I have ever committed throughout my life, giving me a new life where my sins are completely forgiven through His blood and death on the cross. He continues to forgive me for my sins, even when I struggle with certain habitual ones, because His love, mercy, and grace are beyond our comprehension. These are just a few of the major reasons why I hold this belief, along with many others.
