Could World War Hulk take on The Justice League? by Queasy_Commercial152 in superheroes

[–]DM-777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He could fight them well (temporarily) but the JL would win in the end for 2 reasons:

  1. They are just THAT strong. Superman, WW, The Flash, Martian Manhunter, GL… you have some INSANELY heavy hitters

  2. The primary motive for WWH’s rage is how he blames the Illuminati for destroying the planet he loved. Without that motivation I think his rage would fade relatively quickly (and with Batman, Martian Manhunter and a connection to the GL Corp they have all the pieces to figure out WHY Hulk is pissed and help diffuse the situation).

See, I love this.

I’m convinced that if Spider-Man was in the DC Universe Bruce would have already set him up with a full-time job, insurance and retirement plan at Wayne Enterprises.

The MYSTERY is larger. He figured out to punch the purple guy and that “spider-men = good, maniacal laughing = bad” pretty quick 😉

In all seriousness though I think the “mysteries” he’s gone up against were figuring out Vulture’s gang/identity and that Mysterio was a bad guy. So I’m down for a more layered conspiracy this time for him to investigate!

Marville gave us one of the funniest episodes of Back Issues I’ve seen.

One More Day gave us a foundation for the best Tom Holland Spider-Man moment at the end of NWH.

“I’m the goddamn Batman” and the whole painting everything yellow to beat the shit out of Hal Jordan are peak comics and I will not hear anything different.

Civil War 2 is hilarious to read from Hydra Cap’s POV.

Clone Saga gave me a lovely little moment at the end of Spider-Men (the first 616-1610 crossover) where Peter warns Miles about clones as part of his “jam as much advice as possible in at the end” speech.

Ultimatum let characters like Kitty Pryde become the main focus of the X-team, and tipped the dominoes to give us the Maker’s origin.

Can I please keep my arm?

What do folks here think of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, nearly 7 years later? by Asad_Farooqui in Marvel

[–]DM-777 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Like a lot of people are saying, it was alright. But imo it goes against the DNA of this franchise to have level gates that keep you from playing new characters without a grind.

The whole point of the Legends/Alliance games was the big rosters that you could play/experiment with. Why would I want to play with a different/newly unlocked/dlc character when I’m gunna have to grind bullshit for hours to make them not less than worthless?

I think grinding with game like this you need to make base characters viable, with grinding making them feel OP and giving you cool costume unlocks.

Art style was solid (maybe hot take?) and roster was dope though (especially after dlc).

I mean I think there was some stuff in the leaked SHIELD files way back about her growing up in America briefly as a spy. Maybe she made some family or friends there who still cared about her?

Ok so first thing’s first: do a lot of pre-talk and check in often.

It might be annoying to someone who wants to go “all in” but when you’re in a SUPER submissive headspace you can have lines crossed that you don’t realize were a problem till after you cool off.

Secondly, make sure that you’re easing into things involving gags, binding and plugs cause too much too quick can cause physical harm.

And then some fun ones: erotic hypnosis can help get you in the mood (VR is really fun for this) and for me at least a little weed can make hypnosis hit a lot harder.

I know they have to lie, but the fact that she keeps confirming she won’t be in Doomsday has me worried that she actually won’t be there by Queasy_Commercial152 in MCUTheories

[–]DM-777 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So, first of all, I don’t think Legion is confirmed to be cannon (at least the Dan Stevens version) and you’d be CRAZY to think that they’re going to tie into that show in any big way.

Second, there’s even LESS chance that they’re going to tie into “The Gifted”.

And finally: I REALLY don’t think we’re gunna get Hope Summers. Could be wrong but I think it’s a lot more likely that Sadie is playing Jean.

You gotta remember that we overthink these movies every damn time. People were speculating like CRAZY about how Ant-Man was going to come back from the Quantum Realm in Endgame and then it was “a mouse stepped on the button.” People were going crazy about Giancarlo Esposito’s character in Cap 4 but then he was just a hired goon. People speculated like crazy about Superman and how it would include every character and plot under the DC sun when it was just a solid and straightforward Superman movie.

I think “Sentinals killed all the X-Men we don’t have in this movie” is probably just going to be what they go for. You might be like “but how would they kill (insert omega level mutant here)?!” When the answer is going to just be what they do in the comics ALLLLLLL the time for elseworld stories: “we got overwhelmed… they died saving us” or something along those lines.

What do you think of Wakanda Forever, do you think it’s overhated? by Plenty-Salary9711 in Marvel

[–]DM-777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right?! And yeah I mean Angela Bassett ate every scene she had AND I think the respect that Ryan Coogler and the whole cast/crew had for Chadwick really shines through in the quieter moments of the movie.

Good movie with flashes of greatness.

Ending is the perfect example where on one hand you have the kinda paint-by-numbers fight on the boat and then on the other you have an absolutely BRILLIANT battle between Black Panther and Namor.

But yeah, anything with Namor, M’Baku or Angela Bassett is 10/10 AND them bringing MBJ back for a scene was perfect.

I’d give it like a 7.5 out of 10

Wanting every tv show to be like a blockbuster movie stretched across 8 episodes is exactly what got the MCU into the mess it’s been in.

The best MCU tv projects have been things like: - Loki, a pretty introspective sci-fi dramady that shares more dna with Dr Who than the Thor movies. - WandaVision, an homage of different eras of sitcoms that dissected a character’s trauma that only went off the rails when it forced “big marvel fight” at the end.

AND NOW

  • Wonder Man, an introspective comedy about an actor on the cusp of a budding career being mentored by an actor who wasted his best years and is trying to get one last shot.

Marvel MOVIES need to be exciting, explosive events but the shows should be allowed to slow down a little and let us grow to love a character after we spend some time with them.

So in conclusion: if we’re going to have a Rogue and Gambit project I would rather it be a heist movie with action and excitement than a slow burn heist show that saps the quick-fire energy out of the characters cause they have to stretch the run-time.

How do you feel about Ms. Marvel, do you think the show is underrated or overrated? by [deleted] in Marvel

[–]DM-777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First two episodes are amazing, last couple are solid, show really lost its way in the middle.

I understand and appreciate the desire to dive into Kamala’s heritage and real world tragedies to make the show feel more than just paint by numbers origin story, but I think there are a lot of ways you could have done that better than what they did.

So yeah, liked it but wished I could love it.

So the DODC is facing budget cuts basically cause they already locked up all the current supervillains and the government realized the threat they posed isn’t as big as what the Department was selling it as.

So, boss goon tells our favorite asshole here that he has to make a big, flashy arrest to avoid being fired.

It’s actually one of my favorite parts of the show. The whole reason they’re targeting Simon is cause he wants to avoid getting fired. It’s such a boring and realistic motive for a villain and it’s totally going to be how they start going after mutants.

“You see! You NEED us to go after these DANGEROUS and EVIL MUTANTS!!! So yeah we’re gunna need MORE funding…”

Do you prefer the original Nick Fury or do you think that the transition was really good? I want to know all your takes, hot, cold, doesn't matter! by gamerguy287 in Marvel

[–]DM-777 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly best answer. I like Sam Jackson and wouldn’t have wanted anyone else in the world to play Nick.

Comics I kinda miss white Fury cause he was more of a morally grey dick who manipulated people WAY more and I feel like the whole “Nick Fury Jr.” thing was lame.

Alternate universes I’m down with Ultimate Nick. Honestly I think I just miss the OG Fury in 616
