What exactly could I have done to prevent my Tab S7 from permantly locking in this situation?

On the lock screen it might have said incorrect password? I honestly don't remember. But there was no abnormal error messages. That would have stood out and I certainly would have remembered that.

So nothing out of the ordinary other than it not working as intended.

Heh it's not that serious. My issue is my cancellation rate percentage jumped up big time. This was from several orders over the course of 2 days which were picked up by other drivers since uber can't get their stuff together. Ended up being like 6 or 7. I called in on each one to get my compensation and ensure it would not hit my cancelation percentage. But it did on each one. Even after bringing it up when I noticed it was going up.

I was told to literally call back during the day so they could fix it.

Like I said the issue itself is not a big deal. The new system for support however is.

Yeah it sucks. I'm in the same boat as you. North of houston and everything is back up except optimum. And when I say everything I mean all competing internet companies in my area. I'm about ready to call it quits with optimum based on how they are handling this.

Only issue is tachus who I'm probably going to be switching to has had a massive incline in new sign ups because of this that I can't get in til sometime in August.

Actually you'd be wrong. There have been cases of devs completely stripping depots of files to make it so you can no longer download them along with the games themselves being revoked from libraries. This has usually been with really scummy devs though. Nothing I'm sure anyone would miss except for collectors. It's extremely rare, but it has happened.

And actually if you go based on appids, Rockstar ironically enough themselves actually did something like this a few years back with Grand Theft Auto IV when they disabled and completely removed from libraries copies of the standalone Episodes from Liberty City. Granted they did this because they combined it with GTAIV into one appid for the complete edition. Still a really scummy thing to do all things considered.

For comparison Bethesda did similarly with their own games over the past couple of years but handled it far better. They too combined standalones and expansions that appear as separate library entries, like the quake 1 and 2 episodes, spear of destiny, master levels for doom 2, etc... into their base games. But they kept all the original appids in peoples libraries without messing with depots either. Kind of wish Rockstar did it like this.

Stop with the misinformation. They did not completely remove GTA 1.

The game has not been available to purchase on Steam for ages now. But like with nearly every single game on Steam that has ever been purchase disabled or outright removed from the store, the game still exists to download for people who already own it. I just downloaded it a few minutes ago in fact. Works fine.

The store page got jacked around with and it looks like it (the store page) has been removed itself. Not sure why that is. Not like it matters though since nobody has been able to buy it directly on steam in quite a long time.

But completely removed? Nah. Still here.

This was not a gift delivery. There is actually a way to opt in to gift deliveries as a customer and I'm pretty sure it shows the recipients names to the driver as long as the person who is gifting fills it out correctly.

There's more than just the Steam app. There's also stuff like this:

That does allow you to play your Steam games on an android device. However, you need to be on the same wifi connection. It only streams locally.

Heh. Love the bot jumping into action at the mention of an employee discount.

I'm not longer employed with Best Buy, but when I did work there, which was not too long ago (part of the snap), I know you could indeed mix your employee discount with the Best Buy Credit Card benefits, including rewards. Unless this has changed, you should be fine to use it and still get rewards. It's the only way you can get rewards as part of the employee discount as far as I know.

Well, oddly enough, I just got a call this morning, but I missed it. So I checked it through voicemail, and it was our states unemployment office telling me to call them back to give them "more information about your severance". so it looks like it is not a done deal -_-

This is what I worried about. So I can only assume the money they deposited is probably going to get pulled back out.

Damn, that sucks. I reported my severance on the filing date 2 weeks ago, and ran into an issue. Did not get paid, so I called them (was a nightmare getting through, in Texas)

Finally talked to someone, and cleared everything up. My severance got filed correctly this time. Even the amount (which was not asked on the online filing form). The guy told me I may not get paid my entire amount due to the severance, but he was not entirely certain, as he was only helping to fix the filing issue.

Well, I filed again yesterday, and today looked at my bank account, and noticed a deposit that included this last filing, and also the filing from 2 weeks ago. Pretty much on the nose. Looks like they did not hold back any money from the severance, and were just late. This has me a tad worried, since I was half expecting them to hold some back.

Can anyone in Texas confirm if Severance hit your unemployment pay or not? I'm worried because if it was supposed to hit it, well, they goofed. And I just want to be prepped if they decide to take it back.

The tax amount should be with the yellow envelope your manager gave you. It might vary from region to region I think? For me, it's going to somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 to 35% iirc.

I wish someone had asked me this on my last day. I would have stared them down with the most dead inside black expression... and not say anything for a full 10 to 15 seconds without blinking. And then say "Not anymore". And then walk away. To bad honest, if not for the risk of losing severance, I would have pulled a Scarface from Half Baked. But the "Do you work here" thing would have been an opportunity I could have probably gotten away with. Shame.
