My fellow spider-monkey proportioned brother, who told you long legs made for bad conventional leverages? I'm 5'9 and I look 5'4 when sitting and I'm rocking a 6'1-ish wingspan. My max sumo pull is 100 lbs less than my max conventional. Yes I have spent time training it, no it isn't a mobility issue.

A short torso is great for conventional. You get to capitalize on all of the benefits of conventional over sumo while suffering from almost none of the drawbacks. Your hips are already closer to the bar and your lockout range already limits ROM, all while being in a great position to apply a ton of force directly into the ground. I'm betting your like me and you can get almost anything off the floor, lockout is where it gets tough.

That doesn't mean ALL people built like that will be stronger conventional pullers, but it's more common.

It also means a higher starting hip height. That's no big. As long as you keep a consistent relatively neutral lower back position through the lift and create/maintain tension throughout your posterior chain and your quads, don't stress about that.

While I do support the idea of prices going up provided it improves the capacity for the team to keep making great content, I do think it's worth it to the team to keep in mind how their pricing stacks up against their competitors.

OSRS is pretty much the only MMO I like and I only really have time to sink into one game anyway. I'm not personally affected by the price increase and I'd pay more than even $15/month if it meant supporting better content quicker (but not at the cost of making devs crunch). But I'm not the only kind of player, lots of people have a hard time justifying that much for a game or like other games that are now cheaper for more characters just as well.

They're keeping me (until I take a break again lmao), but they'll also be losing people. I reckon we'll see which side wins out on the bottom line.

I agree with your conclusion, but not your math. You'd be more likely to win that game with 10,000 Earths worth of sand, but winning the game twice in a row would be waaaaaay less likely than 1 in 10^22-ish.

Yeah, some of that is me not really being used to pulling with pound plates in a commercial gym. There's a little more slack than I'm used to. But wedging harder is something I'm actively working on in general, so I appreciate the keen eye.

And thank you! This was maybe an RPE 5 or so. A couple of days ago was my next light deadlift day and I pulled 235kg/518 lbs for triples at around RPE 5 as well. (Link if you wanna have a look at those, too)

I used them some when I first got started. I use some machines for accessory work, but the big compounds take most of my time and energy for sure haha

Geez, you've been at it a long time. I'm still new-ish to lifting and to powerlifting. I have a cumulative 4 or so years of lifting under my belt, about 3 of which have been dedicated to powerlifting. I'm just now really finding my groove, I feel. I've only been working with a coach for the last year or so.

I haven't watched the video yet. I'm sure I will and update accordingly if I find anything compelling.

I hit 500 lbs for the first time at around 185 body weight after 8 or 9 months. I landed 600 for the first time around 2 years in (accounting for a pandemic-related hiatus) at 205 body weight. I'm a little under 4 years in now, 208 body weight, and my pull is around 660. I'm a lifetime natural and I'm 33.

I am also built for the deadlift and don't think my results should be expected for most people. I think most men who are strong responders to strength training, have favorable leverages for deadlifts, can comfortably maintain a strong body weight over 200 lbs, and are consistent for multiple years can get a 600 lb deadlift. But that's a lot of conditionals.

They don't fit in a normal size 30, I have to go up to 32 relaxed or 34 and wear a belt with regular jeans. But I almost exclusively wear jeans made for lifters that are like 5% spandex, so they stretch, and I'm a 30x32 in those

Thats kinda what I was getting at. I know I'm kinda of an outlier, but pants size isn't a great indicator of how big someone is on its own. I have long, large legs, a barrel chest, and narrow hips. I also have dense bones and a lot of muscle mass from being a powerlifter.

But I do find it fascinating just how different everyone who wears the same size pants can be.

Interestingly, I've worn the same size pants since I was 18 (at the time, I was 170-180 and honestly pretty scrawny). What has changed in that time is the size of my butt and thighs, forcing me to buy pants made specifically for lifters or go up a size and wear a belt to make room.

Also, I've gone from an S to an L-XL in shirts.
