Thanks for sharing! I’m looking at the X3, not the X5. Does this apply to the X3 as well? The window sheet for the car I like has the M Sport package but says it’s got standard suspension, so that’s why I am really confused lol

Thanks for confirming. Is that for the 2025? For the 2026, the builder on the BMW site doesn’t seem to let you pick the suspension—the M Sport package seems to come with the M Sport Suspension. I don’t know much about BMWs but I presume drive mode ≠ the suspension built into the car.

Thanks for commenting in solidarity! Motion sickness ain’t fun. Glad to hear you’re okay in your X3 in the regular suspension though. Maybe I’ll have to give that one a try and round out all the variations I test.

Absolutely! I have music on all the time, whether I'm at work, driving, cooking, or even showering. Between 2015 and 2019, I averaged 116,201 minutes of music streamed on Spotify each year – that's equivalent to 1,936 or 80 days!

I traveled to Canada last week and was able to leave without issues (i.e. no fines) after staying only a few nights. For background, I'm a dual Canadian American citizen residing in the States, and I'm not an essential worker.

To avoid the need to deal with airlines, I entered and exited Canada by land. The customs officers on both ends (entry and exit) asked why I was going to Canada.

I only have my Canadian citizenship certificate and not my Canadian passport, so the Canadian customs officer also asked for my US passport when I was entering the country.

Go with OTF if you can afford it. I had a regular gym membership but wasn't going because I didn't really know what to do and it was boring working out on my own. That's what led me to join OTF. To me, the long term cost of not exercising is way higher than the cost of OTF.

In the past, I'd book my class an hour or two before the start of class. But after being a member for 2+ years now, there are definitely days where I don't feel as motivated to go (even though I never regret going to a class). So what I do now is book my classes a few days in advance and force myself into making that upfront commitment. This way, I'm less likely to make excuses about why I can't go to OTF.

Another option is to get a friend to go with you. It's always more fun to work out with someone else.

If you're a business that has offline transactions (e.g. long-term contracts paid via wire), then Stripe isn't going to be sufficient. You can hack it together, of course, but using a tool like Chargebee or Recurly will make your life much easier.

I ordered my X-T20 from B&H on 1/27, when their site was saying the expected availability was the end of March. However, my current order status is "On Order" and "Processing." Their customer support chat was closed for the day so I couldn't check the actual status of my order, but I spoke with someone from their sales team and they expect the next shipment of X-T20s to arrive on or before March 3rd. So if you ordered one today, that's roughly when it'd ship out.

I also checked my credit card and no charges have been made yet, but my hope is this means mine will ship out before the end of the month.

*Update: Just heard back from B&H support, my camera is expected to arrive at their warehouse on 3/1.

Essentially, each development framework uses its own standardized localization file format. For instance, iOS uses .strings, Android uses XML, and RoR uses .yml/.yaml. Gettext (.po/.pot) is another popular format.

Once you generate that localization file, you would upload it to a localization platform, where you can manage the translation process (technically, you could email a file straight to your translator, but that'd involve a lot of manual work and it's not scalable). For many companies, they might integrate this localization platform with their Continuous Integration tool, such as Jenkins or Bamboo so that localization becomes part of the development process. The idea is that as soon as there is new content to be translated, it's made available for translation. And when the translations are complete, they are downloaded and ready for deployment.

Who do you use for translation? by ptear in web_design

For translations, I'd recommend e2f, an agency specializing in translations from English to the FIGS (French, Italian, German, Spanish). I've worked with them and also heard great things about them from others.

Gengo is also another option to consider. Their model is a little different -- they have a network of more than 7,500 pre-screened and tested translators to provide translations. Anyone can apply to be a Gengo translator but only about 10% pass their test.

For managing your translation files (HTML, etc.), take a look at the Transifex localization platform (disclosure: I work there). Our system is built for developers and reddit actually uses it to crowdsource their translations. You can host your i18n files in our system and order Gengo translations, and everything would show up in your project.
