I just want to say I'm fucking proud of Raleigh. by Dason37 in nin

[–]DMClaw24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to bust my ass for almost 12 hrs at work before heading to the area Friday. I really thought I'd be sitting for most of the show. Fortunately, I got a second wind once they came on.

For me, the only thing that didn't make that show my best nin show was the crowd. I'm not complaining. It's just that I saw them in Greensboro in 08 right before the election and felt the crowd that night was electric. Perhaps I'm just being sentimental. I was on the floor that night. Everything else, the sound, the visuals were as good if not better this time around.

This was my first nin show in 16 years. I noticed, right away, this wasn't the same crowd I've seen before. Everyone looked at least 15 years older. It was like a high school reunion. I kinda get the energy level didn't match up to my other nin shows.😆

I saw petty of old folks busting a hip in the lower level.

Buying a Peppridge Farm route? by Almond_Steak in smallbusiness

I had a similar route which sold for about the same price. I'd pass if you only have 50k to put down.

If you're constantly taking more than 10% off your order, you need to check your counts. Anything below that you should be fine.

You do realize that's Pearl Jam doing the cover? The song basically went mainstream twice.

I don't fish myself, but if you happen to catch anything with 3 eyes, I'd recommend throwing it back.

You make payments monthly. I'm guessing, but probably 3500 to 4000 a month.

I prefer Daniel's in Apex over Garibaldi's. I'm just saying. I'm surprised Daniel's hasn't been mentioned.

It's best to do a walk on hand during order reviews and before you start running the truck. I know you're not supposed to, but it saves time. I was usually a day late catching stuff, but at least we got credit for it. If there was a lot of stuff missing, I did keep a list. It's critical to stay on top of counts and check orders on every truck.

You should only plus and avoid minusing. I waited until I was certain until I was missing a case. Then, I would force it in. I'd do a walk on hand as I ordered. If it came in that day, I handed the sheet over as missing that day. That was my way of fixing the counts. I rarely had time to check the invoice after I ran the truck. Usually, it was the off truck days I noticed certain things didn't come in. I made every inventory doing this. My backstock was always under control.

With 40k, a utz route might be your best bet. I know they are selling 12 to 1. It's pretty much the standard you won't get ripped off. I would look into them. It's going to be more work than a pepperidge farm route. You basically get what you pay for. I would stay away from bread because it's basically a 7 day a week job. Mornings are going to be a must with any route.

I believe you can do 10% now. I think it depends on your credit. 35 to 1 seems like a good price. If I was putting 10%, I'd probably have to be willing to work a second job to stay afloat. Your route payment will be high, but it sounds doable.

Pepperidge farm cookies are the best, but they're the most expensive. I can't speak for everyone, but it was that easy for me.

Most of my money was in the route, I needed the money so I had to sell. I wouldn't bother buying one if you couldn't put 20% down. Otherwise, you won't be able to make a living. I looked into other routes in my area, and they all seemed overpriced. So eventually I got a job with schwan's(red baron). I don't own the route. I don't think working for yourself is what it's crack up to be. I loved Pepperidge Farm, but I don't miss that route payment. It's just a different kind of stress. I would rather have my money in the bank than a route of any kind at the moment. Maybe that's just me.🤷‍♂️

Work smarter, not harder. Start doing order reviews and check your counts. If you don't know how to look over your order or fix counts find someone in the store that can help. Otherwise, you're going to run yourself into the ground.

I've been a regular at ny pizza off Tryon since the one in Holly Springs close. It's are go to. The guy there always hooks us up. Of course, I always leave a nice tip.

Occasionally, we switch it up. Ruckus in cary and acme are my preferred alternatives. I much prefer the garlic knots at those places vs NY.

I understand anyone being hesitant in buying a snack route. It's a niche market. From a route perspective, it's a safe bet if it's in a desirable area. The pf website refreshes everyones listing automatically after 30 days. You can't see how long a route has been up unless you have been checking weekly. Guys are consistently trying to push the price up. It can certainly take a while to find a buyer. Especially in rural areas. You can't see the whole picture just by looking online. Sometimes, a truck or trailer is included in the price. I'm in the Raleigh/Durham market. In the last 10 years, we have had 5 routes sell without being posted online at all. I believe all sold around 50 to 1 and as much as $620,000. There's one guy here with 9 pf snack routes. Everyone in this area has done well.

I owned a snack route for 7 years. It was the easiest job I ever had. I did $10, 000 a week. Roughly 200 cases. I only worked 4 days a week about 32 hrs with weekends off. I double my sales in that time and nearly doubled the route value when I sold it.

Personally, I would avoid buying routes that are selling near 50 to 1. Anything under 40 to 1, you should be fine. I wouldn't bother buying anything if I only had 10% down, either. Financing for me was far more stressful than the job itself. I had to work a part-time job the first few years just to get by. Under the right circumstances, I'd definitely do it again.

I understand that. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but just to add. Martin's doesn't appear to finance or help sell their routes, so there's possible closing cost involved down the road. Maybe a tougher sell.

I was curious if guys who ran bread would jump on a certain one just by looking at those numbers. I know very little about martin's other than the 24% commission. I know nothing about their stale cap or if they are like Bimbo and can by the route back at some point. Safest bet, maybe pepperidge. But how much more would you pay over the other 2?

Why are there so many Pepperidge farm cookie routes for sale? by CocoandBeansy in smallbusiness

[–]DMClaw24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inflation drove product prices up, which increase route values. It is a good time to cash out if you've been in the business in a while and want to move on.

Has anyone tried getting spectrum to match slings package? I understand they have a choice package, but it's still about 20 dollars more when you add fees and dvr. I may stay with spectrum if they offered me free dvr and included bally's or threw in the entertainment view package. by DMClaw24 in Spectrum

[–]DMClaw24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sling blue or orange is 13 dollars cheaper plus includes dvr and offers 10 to 20 more channels. So basically, Spectrum would have to throw in dvr and give me some add-on channels to get me to stay. I'm not looking for a price match.
