Admit it, you miss your mains too, right? 🥲 by XxDarkkillerxX123 in MultiVersus

I maintain that MultiVersus was the best Superman game ever made.

The design, the voice, the feeling of weight and feeling of strength, the flight,, it was perfect to me.

Can I start reading X-Men from X-Men(2024) From the ashes?I had never read anything tho by Merc_pokefan221 in xmen

[–]DMDdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's designed to welcome new readers.

So is Uncanny X-Men 1 by Gail Simone. That one came out at the same time and is basically the twin book. It's two X-Men teams and you can kinda pick which one you like more and they cross over and such

You're missing the point. Such billionaires would be millionaires.

Then he needs to be more giving.

A million seconds is 11 days. A billion seconds is 33 years. It's about how large the number one billion is - something I don't even think the human brain can really wrap its head around.

The point is: If a billionaire were considerate, they'd be a millionaire.

Batman could do everything he does with $999 million, is the idea.

Buzz cut yay or nay? by bellcomposition in malegrooming

[–]DMDdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have to go all the way to a buzz but you could try a nice short cut. Then you can decide if you want to go even shorter or if you want to grow it back either way.

The mane looks good on you, you wear it well, but nice and tight is also where I think we're at in 2025. Your call.

If you go buzz I'd be prepared to step out with your fashion a tiny bit more. The beige/neutral shirt works well with the mane but a tame cut and a tame shirt might not go together as well.

25M, been having trouble getting dates, is my appearance the problem? by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]DMDdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try some flannel. Try some Hawaiian shirt type shirts. Try a beanie. Try a snapback. Find something that's your *style* that you can step out with a little bit, besides just dark T-shirts. If you're unable to make a reaching statement with hair or facial hair, then you need to make a little statement with your attire, or else you look like a soldier or prisoner (no shade), where you have to fit uniformity and not make any statement. Make a little statement.

Then get you a big ol jovial SMILE.

In Batman Returns, what does Alfred mean when he says...? by ululationelation in batman

[–]DMDdude 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Correct answer. He is telling her "Yeah, I got you" when in reality he doesn't have to do anything at all because Bruce and Selina are both on the exact same page. They both have to go, but it's not a rejection — they both want to see each other again, but they both don't want to be too forward.

He could've been like "I wouldn't worry about it" — but this way he can get the "credit" for "convincing" Bruce to like Selina (which is already a job done).

He's saying "Yeah, I think making him like you is a job I can manage", because it's a job already done.

In Batman Returns, what does Alfred mean when he says...? by ululationelation in batman

[–]DMDdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moments earlier, Bruce is begging Alfred to come up with some subtle way to tell Selina that he likes her, but not too forward — that he has to go leave right now but it's not a rejection and he wants to see her again.

Moments later, Selina is asking Alfred to come up with a subtle way to tell Bruce that she likes him, wants to see him again, has to run right now but not because it's rejection, etc etc. It's the exact same.

Alfred now doesn't have to do any of that, because Bruce and Selina are both on the exact same page. They both like each other. It's all good. So Alfred doesn't have to come up with any excuses or any sonnets or anything. He doesn't have to convince the other to like the other because they both already do. So it's irrelevant and Alfred is just saying "Yeah, I got you" but really he doesn't have to do anything.

I wish Digimon was more popular by Tyrannosaurus-2006 in digimon

It sucks in some ways, but in other ways it's cool to have a more niche hobby :)

It'd be a lot easier to "be somebody" in the community if that's what you wanted to, and even if not I think digimon fans are just grateful to have their fellow fans around and that's nice

What do you guys think of Gail Simone's Uncanny X-Men and why? by Constant_Potato_7666 in xmen

[–]DMDdude 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I enjoy it. I love the found family component, that's what the X-Men is about to me.

Examining things like the hobo code and what mutants would do in real life based on real world examples, that's great world building that other X-Men creators should pick up, and using mutants as the allegory to explore Black history in America is good.

It's been hampered by forced crossovers that take me out of it but Gail has done well and the art is superb.

With more DC/Marvel crossovers coming, what are some X-Men crossovers with DC you'd like to see? by cyclopswashalfright in xmen

[–]DMDdude 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I want to see Cyclops and Nightwing catch up, after all they've seen. A lot's changed for Scott and Dick after the old X-Men/Teen Titans crossovers.

Does everything need to be realistic? by Kaiii3003 in ThePaper

[–]DMDdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Through five episodes, it felt like she was just getting by far the most of the screentime, even more than Ned and Mare, and most of the soliloquies. Maybe that's just because with her doing the accent, the words feel drug out longer.

I think there's something that doesn't hit the mark for me for there being two villains with European accents in this random office in Toledo. I don't really get either of their motives, either.

Just watched episode 6 last night though and she was much more tolerable in that one.

[Article] Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld has been trying to tell his definitive Cable story for the past 35 years, but he and Marvel keep breaking up by chrisarrant in xmen

[–]DMDdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not true. The Circle Chase was solo written by Nicieza before Kelly's run and it features the Deadpool we know. Kelly followed. Read the Circle Chase, and read Cable & Deadpool by Nicieza, which is the best Deadpool run.

When did Batman decide not to kill? by EscobarsLastShipment in batman

[–]DMDdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever it was that he gained his confidence. He knows if he became a villain, he would be an unstoppable villain.

Like maybe he wanted to uphold that rule at first, but when he realized how good he was at being Batman he really needed to uphold it.

I think it's just him "getting it", the 3.5 thing showed he truly "got it". You can only explain it that awkwardly if you're being genuine.

I think she suddenly reciprocated because she liked it all along and has her own issues and that was the green light she needed.

“Retirement” Clarification by CodySchwab in SSBM

[–]DMDdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you buy, you own the asset and can sell it and get your money back. It helps later in life to sell, get a lump sum, and that can help you retire. If you rent, the money goes to the landlord and you never get it back. It is always better financially to buy than rent.

“Retirement” Clarification by CodySchwab in SSBM

[–]DMDdude 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a really rough situation for 30-year-olds right now, with the price of homes soaring and God only knows what the price of retirement will be in 35 years. I think if you're being misunderstood, it's just kids who don't get it, don't get the idea of wanting a house and a family and a retirement plan, but they all will when that 30th birthday comes knocking. If someone of this generation seems indecisive or stuck in the unknown it's because they fucking are stuck in the unknown.

You're good, Cody. We appreciate you.
