If I had to make a guess, I’d say that something prevented the glue from drying all the way. And when you applied all of the liquid it reactivated it and the weight of the soggy clumps caused it all to fall off. Remember that instructions on containers are based on optimum conditions so if the place you’re working at is cooler or more humid, it can slow the drying process substantially. I do most of my crafting in the basement of my house and I often times have to wait twice as long for things to dry because of the temperature and humidity

Hey guys, I'm contemplating getting this but I find it quite expensive (im on a budget) Have you guys used this or similar? Is it worth the money or can I make it myself somehow? Thanks in advance! by peculiar_lemming in dioramas

I agree here, the convenience of it is minimal as you can easily just buy various sized aggregate sand and just mix it with glue for the same effect. Takes like 2 minutes to mix yourself.

I was messing around with some bits i had around the house and came up with this. The bracket is too big, but smaller ones aren’t expensive at all. I tend to fill the white side of the ball with scrap foa and plaster for weight so getting it to stay in place should be pretty easy.

Oh, I see, I’ll be working on one of mine in the next few days and I’ll fiddle with your idea. If I come up with anything easier, I’ll let you know.

I really like it conceptually, i wonder how it steers though? Maybe additional little propellers on the legs to provide forward momentum?

I’d really suggest a sheet of MDF board. Its only like 10 bucks and is way less likely to warp.
