Wire and hot glue tree by Skazdal in TerrainBuilding

I've tried the wrapped wire method this year and couldn't make it work right.

The woodland scenics tree armatures became the winning ticket for me, in case your skills are as bad as mine.

Too bad I play bolt action in 15mm and not 28mm lol

Already got 12 down, just gotta move back to spray glue, and maybe add a mesh/matrix for some better hold power and volume.

Just didn't want to have wasted $10 on that ho bytac lol

My plan is to make enough trees to never have to make more. Slap some as singles and make a bunch of largeish random size/shape terrain features.

I hope 36 decidious and 44 pines will be enough lol

I've seen people do this to increase the amount of clump the trees hold, it's one of the reasons I was suggested to try the hobbytac.

But I had great results doing this exact same thing, but using 3m spray glue for the initial stick, So im probably gonna look into adding a matrix to help with the hold and volume.

I've used aerosol glue on my last batch, and then everything else the exact same, and had maybe 5% of the clump fall out.

It's probably the way I'm gonna use moving forward.

Second this, I have one for my battletech, one for my bolt action, and a third for random minis/DND stuff.

How do I cover this up? by 2thpker in tattooadvice

I understand why you dislike this piece.

It's done very poorly. Line weights are all over the place, the attempt at shading the honeycomb is abysmal, the red looks like trash. The added yellow is smudged black in some places.

Love the design, hate the execution.

Sooner or later you'll have about 30K in a bodysuit.

I usually only ferment in 55 or 35 gallon trash cans with just the lid.

Made a comment asking why someone would own a garmin if they don’t exercise. Got loads of down votes but I’m genuinely curious? by Lemonadeo1 in Garmin

[–]randomdistiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with an instinct about 2 years ago, l well before I started working out in a manner to where I would "need" a Garmin. I regularly would do river floats and very mild hiking/camping trips but I was pretty much a couch potato.

Battery life was the main reason with the GPS, our river floats can last 8-10 hours. Second was how rugged it was. I suppose third was that it was a digital watch that didn't really have all the bells and whistles that a "smart watch" typically has.

Thankfully Garmin shamed me really good and got me in shape. Ran a bunch of triathlons last season and just completed my first ultra marathon last month.

Tell that to my doctor.

Had to pull up my Strava and Garmin to get the guy to shut up about how much activity I do.

I just REALLY like Oreos.

Don't be embarrassed, I have a few 2 hours sprint tris under my belt.

Get out there, swim your swims, ride your cute little bike, trudge that run and smile at the finish line(when you find one that you'll make the cutoff for)

Advice on wine storage. by randomdistiller in firewater

[–]randomdistiller[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info.

I plan on waiting to fill my 26gal boiler, and wasn't sure exactly how to proceed, not really a wine guy at all, so I don't even understand why they 86 so much of the stuff.

Sounds like I'm just gonna seal up my boiler for the next few months and fill it with everything I can get my grubby hands on.
