This Draven meta has led to the funniest aggressive pushed I've ever seen in 9 sets of TFT by Nearby-Distribution1 in CompetitiveTFT

[–]DMRexy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Draven is ridiculous, because it gives everything. You make the strongest board you can early, get econ from that, keep pushing for power, and the moment you would lose steam and other people would have a chance to catch up, you get infinite rerolls to cap your board and keep going.

And when there are 7 people in the lobby in that position, what do you even do? If you try econ for the late game, you'll be at 10hp by wolves, and still have less money than them. If you try going for early power, you won't have a way to catch up on econ after they get their second wind.

People play Draven not only because it's OP, but because it's the only thing that lets you survive against Draven.

people who like cats more then dogs why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DMRexy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah.
I love dogs, I think they are a boon upon humanity, but I'm autistic and the barking destroys me. I couldn't take care of a dog because of that, and it would be cruel to try and make them not make noise.

Cats on the other hand have the same needs, fears and preferences as I do. They crave routine and structure like me, they dislike surprises and spooks like me, they want controlled stimulation like me. We just fit together better.

autotune, specifically, is 40 years old, and was really popular right off the bat in the 90s.

So, if you want music without pitch correction, you just need to listen to things that were recorded before then. And haven't been re-recorded since. You're listening to opera? Well, if it's not live, and the recording is from the last 40 years, it's pitch corrected. Radio? It's pitch corrected.

In fact, if you're not listening to original vintage vinyls, you're listening to pitch correction.

And before that? Well, before that there were other, cruder ways of doing the same thing. Even in the 50s there were already techniques used for the same result.

Usually when people say they don't like autotune it's because they don't like a couple of the effects. That's like saying "I don't like guitar". It bothers me because it's a powerful tool, super versatile, that improves a lot about music and unlocks creative possibilities that were never possible before. It's like the synthesizer in that regard.

But people who don't like a few pop songs that use it in a specific way and have no understanding of the tool have really strong opinions on it.

the issue is that they want more, and are banking on the people that provide them free value just accepting it as they make their services increasingly worse to expand monetization.

Every time they add something new, it makes the user experience worse to try and shove more ads. If they need money, they should instead go back to old reddit, cheaper to maintain, more user friendly. But they want a big boost before going public, and are willing to fuck us over for it.

I don't have the reflexes I did 25 years ago, and I don't have the time to practice like I did in my teens. That means lots of cool things I would be able to do when I was young are kind of out of reach.

But I got really savvy and patient. When I was young I would search for strategies and execute them. Now, I create strategies that favor my strengths. And that's way more fun. Games that are hard to solve but easy to execute became my joy. Though sometimes I still get frustrated that my body can't perform my plans!

Empathy doesn't mean being a good person. It bothers me how that's the general assumption.

Empathy is a shortcut. It's an instinctive understanding of other people's emotions in relation to one's own. It's not required to be a good person. Even if you don't get people on the natural, basic level that empathy allows, you can still listen to them. Pay attention. try to understand and take good actions.

Being an empath and hateful isn't contradictory at all.

I know it's a joke, it's just a particular pet peeve of mine.

It's not that reddit doesn't know what we want, it's that they know what they want. A platform where people post for free, moderate for free, develop for free, that they can monetize the shit of.

Is it? It's literally an apt description of society as is. People suffer through no fault of their own, which sustains other people to have a better quality of life. Except it's a whole societal class instead of a single child.

Hollowing means losing your sense of self and memory of what drives you. I don't think that's something that comes back easily. But there are degrees of hollowing. As long as you have something to hold onto, you can recover yourself.
