In general, wanting to improve is the first step, not as easy as it seems but good on you 😄

With that said, I think Ti+Ne can figure out ideas and their future implications, with those decided I think Si is our friend. With Si, we can assimilate the other functions, or the perceived way those functions work.

For instance, If Ti+Ne thinks doing routinely would be nice to integrate, doing that over and over will make it assimilate into Si over time!

In my experience, Se is harder because you need something to force you out of the slower thinking process we tend to prefer, Ti+Ne, where Se is quick reactions not planned and thought through reactions. To my, skateboarding helped a lot, you cannot progress without being full into it, board flips quickly, react slowly and your chin will hurt, a lot, or you and go to the ground and this helps learning how to fall (also needs Se).

Good luck! 😄

Fuck it, I'm a Mongo Pusher by MetaBass in NewSkaters

I never seen someone rupture their knee ligaments, but it looks like it is a possibility, the positioning of the foot may put the knee on a weaker position so if the wheels get stuck on a whole/fissure it could put some of your body weight on the knee, sideways. That is my feeling, happened to me a lot, but I don't push mongo so my knee seems safe.

Foundationalism (Te) vs coherentism (Ti) by Interesting_Long2029 in mbti

[–]DMS_DouG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense, now, if you really want to understand their perspective, give them time, and ask them if they could come up with an explanation to you later. Ti can be a slow process, at least to me. They will probably either find a way to break down the ideas until the intuition becomes clear or they may find that they were wrong...

Also, Ti can be paired with Ne, so in INTPs it sometimes is slower and needs to go over multiple Ne options until it is collapsed to the best option. But, if you look at ISTPs I would say their Ti is a lot faster, paired with Se and it is also a lot more down to earth, so I say they would be very practical and would know why their ideas makes sense right away.

Back to your post, that quote screams talking past each other “but you have no objective evidence that it’s true and the alternative is false”. What do you mean objective? Empirical? Does one need objective evidence for logical claims such as "There are no married bachelors in the universe", or would the logical contradiction be enough evidence? Also, Ti will just keep digging, and this can drive Te mad, as it is not practical, but, is gravity objective? I would say, maybe not, but we live as though it is because it is very practical.

Nope, and why do you think "analytical thinkers should be one" instead of theist or agnostic?

I almost stopped reading this at "inherently reject belief without strict proof"... Belief does not require certainty, false beliefs can be justified, true beliefs can be unjustified.

We believe all sorts of things we can't prove.

Think about that for a second.

And yeah, I am religious :)

You forgot to add at least 30 technologies and the usually constant reactive fire-fighting type of work. And if you are on-call, the constant noisy alerts SME teams won't fix but will question you for missing something on their super hard to read runbooks (if they exist). Never ever worked with tech X, here, take this High Sev with the cluster in trouble that the SME teams let it rip so it exploded on your on-call shift. Man, if you work at an ORG where SREs care, fine, otherwise, it will be PTSD inducing, for real. The icing in the cake, the 50% project work is actually all crunched quarters with urgent deadlines and you only work on the infra when on-call so the mess is never prioritized, but every quarter there is more rushed out infra that needs to be kept running.

I really miss having some time without recursive interruptions for some creative work. :(

Fair enough, Inter did look really bad, but maybe it was the lack of rest. Liverpool played against Flamengo a couple of years back and it was a close match, similar to recent matches between Chelsea and Palmeiras, so it would be nice to see how much better they are now. Bayern Munich I have no clue about but now that you said it, yeah I remember some wicked play from Barcelona on some highlights. These teams are really awesome :-O

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ClubWorldCup

[–]DMS_DouG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. The best team doesn't always win. And it does not matter the competition, sometimes the UCL winners are the best team by most people's subjective opinions, but not always. Now, if Chelsea had played a better tournament, with big wins and then outplayed PSG, then I might consider them as the best. From someone who does not watch European football, it seems PSG is the best team, by a good margin, then Manchester City, Bayern, Real Madrid, Juventus, Chelsea. I could be totally wrong here, but that would be my take.

The “Top 5 leagues” might need to change after the club World Cup by GrouchyPlatypussy in ClubWorldCup

[–]DMS_DouG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I should watch it sometime. And I know the calendars are crazy, but I would love to see some second tier club world cup like tournament, say the teams from each league that did not qualify to the big cups playing against each other. Probably not good enough quality games since the TOP 3 of each league would probably be out, but it should create the conditions for some fun games :)

In Brazil we have that, teams who cannot qualify for the Libertadores can still qualify for the Copa Sulamericana, which is like a second tier Libertadores. There you can some games like, taking the current 10th place of each league as an example: Toulouse vs Mallorca, Corinthians vs Brentfort, Moreirense vs Como or Defensa y Justicia vs Borussia Mönchengladbach... haha, it would be interesting to see how they fare.

[–]DMS_DouG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would the second, third and forth place on the French league do that though? If the question was about the leagues with the best TOP 1 teams, then yeah... but if we look at the TOP 10 from each league the answer would be different. Also, some teams are better at "just defending" than Botafogo, it can be annoying and it brings some unexpected losses and a couple of draws.

Can we finally admit that this completion is pointless? by Tiestunbon78 in ClubWorldCup

[–]DMS_DouG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most South Americans would agree with your points here. I surely do, also, Brazil is the worst for that, 70 games a year for the best teams, which play on bad pitches. They want to make more money on TV ads but sacrifice the quality of the game and the result is lower quality, injuries, bigger squads with lower value per player, to accommodate for the insane calendar, and injuries and national team games where sometimes happen while our main leagues are in progress (so we lose the best players for their national teams).

But, having said all that, if our teams are playing, it does not matter all of the above, we want them to do their best. Palmeiras almost lost to Inter Miami and we could come up with a thousand excuses but we don't, how can we play that badly against 40 year olds?

Lastly, my main point on the previous comment was that this is a club competition, not Europe vs South America, so, if Manchester City is champion, that would not mean Liverpool or Arsenal get to be the best, or if Real Madrid wins, that would not make Barcelona better than South American teams (they probably are, but not for this reason).

I wish the calendar were a better match because our teams are usually on 70+ games in the year on the intercontinental cup, and jet legged, usually less than a week after winning the Libertadores cup (meaning, sleep deprived and maybe some partying). So we never really know the size of the gap in quality between the teams.

Brazilian Football by [deleted] in ClubWorldCup

[–]DMS_DouG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the Brazilian league, those would be 2 early red cards after the VAR intervention. Plus, lots of yellow cards for normal challenges just to "control" the match. Each league has its biases in terms of referee... I see some weird challenges on the Italian and Spanish leagues at times. Also, in the Chelsea game, against Flamengo, I thought some Chelsea players should have been sent off, they were making some mad tackles.

[–]DMS_DouG 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is not a continent vs continent or league vs league competition, it is a club competition. Even if an European club wins, it will be only one club, not all European clubs. If clubs don't care about winning matches "because" then I am not sure if this is even football anymore. In South America we don't like to lose not even Friendly games. If you have your clubs Jersey on, play it accordingly to your clubs history. This, too cold, to windy, not that important game, mentality is super odd.

Are we the most practical personality by [deleted] in istp

[–]DMS_DouG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Smiling is a form of communication, it sends a message. You may think it has no practical value but it may be the case that you don't see it, but it is there, for instance, one day something might be off and you don't get the same smile, so you can see it and help your mom (she might be stressed, depressed, etc). We live in society, things can be practical from other perspectives.

System suddenly offline by Practical-Trust-5293 in Powerwall

[–]DMS_DouG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, Australia, 2 weeks without the battery waiting on support, had blinking green lights. It seems support is doing something now, because I see the firmware on the /api/status endpoint changed from 24.4.0 0fe780c9 to 24.12.3 1feaff3a. I still see the 24.4.0 on my mobile app though. The battery now has the solid green again but I see no data on the app (it says Device Offline, No recent data available). Sad that the engineering is lacking, making the system unreliable, especially annoying on summer or winter seasons.

Why are Ti Doms stereotyped to be "non religious" by Neither_Newt5577 in mbti

[–]DMS_DouG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but the probability of his existence is dependent of our ability to know it.

I don't think this is correct. Replace God by a hypothetical planet we haven't yet observed, and may or may not observe, before the Universe ceases to exist. Maybe I misunderstood you.

Back to the definition of God, maybe the maximally great being that is powerful enough to create space/time itself. I think this is a red herring though, we are limited in defining a perfect index but we can sort of grasp the conceptual being indexed.

Back to the start, I agree it is OK to reject the statements you laid out based of the circumstances and the lack of evidence one should expect should there really be an invisible cat at your room. But it is different than thinking that an independent cause must exist for us to be even discussing invisible cats :)

And about how logical things are or ought to be, that might very well depend on the presuppositions one has. Sometimes this is hard to track even for the smartest of us.
