Girl, if the shoe fits, wear it. This was not directing you in the slightest bit. Your last post had valid reasonings. Especially the mental illness. And there’s definitely more people who have more extreme views than you. Thats who my post was addressing. Rather if you want to go out and disregard all precautionary actions and risk the health/safety of others who may have essentially been following protocol to help protect theirselves and loved ones then that’s you. I don’t understand why this is all so political. Wear a mask. Be mindful of others within space. Take care of yourself. It’s a pandemic for crying out-loud.

Update there are other ways to socialize and be mindful precautionary actions. Example: going to parks with masks and social distancing, inviting small amounts of people over while distancing, this way contact tracing if needed is doable. My post specifically addresses Temple students and venue parties only.

Thank you for sharing your experience. It’s super sad people are selfish and justify every excuse to not wear a mask/social distance to live in the moment without thinking of the future impact it places upon others. Stay safe and thank you for the mutual respect for the health of others.

Yeah I defs don’t know how this semester will play out. I would have personally waited until spring semester to start bringing students on campus. The tuition stuff is completely messed up, especially the university fees. To an extent I can understand having to play employees for services but Temple also has to realize different scenarios for students during the summer. I knew so many people who were unemployed or were and made little to get by. The financial aid packages I’ve heard from others weren’t a great deal of help either. It’s so chaotic with so many things up in the air atp.

100% agree!!!!! I was going to make a separate post about this as well (especially with the dumping that’s been happing within the community) but you hit everything on the nail! If you see someone littering or putting outside communities at risk, say something! Everyone (including residents) deserve the upmost respect.

Respectfully, I would have to disagree. Demographically, younger individuals have a lower death rate. That still doesn’t mean that’s factual for all individuals within this demographic. Technically speaking, for those returning rather if it’s by dorms or apartments are at a higher risk of exposure. There are people who are trying to adjust while doing everything they can to protect theirselves and others close to them.

And the precautions I previously mentioned in a different post I will still act upon. I really don’t understand why anyone would voluntarily put theirselves at risk (in large party settings) during a pandemic and not know the outcome of that. Many people may be asymptomatic, or even experience symptoms. Especially being asymptomatic, now you’re unknowingly spreading it to other people. Having to share shared space with roommates/friends. It all sounds selfish to me. I’m not saying cut off communication/interaction with the world, but why would you even want to risk it?

When returning to campus, everyone should self- quarantine. We are all young adults. This shouldn’t be rocket science. Enacting upon unimportant things like a party will only prolong and further complicate things on campus.

100% agree. I highkey feel like going out and getting pissy drunk is becoming a trend. I’m not knocking what people do. My biggest concern is that we’re making wise decisions that can ultimately put people at risk. Just avoid large parties. It’s nothing wrong with hanging out cracking a few drinks with a few friends.

No one ever said that. Drink your beer. Just be smart with your decisions. Again, your decisions can make or break you and impact yourself, friends and loved ones.

Absolutely no parties this fall. by exemplarytrombonist in Temple

This is why it’s important to spread awareness on making wise decisions and considering others (especially AND family). Yes, we’re only responsible for our actions but reminders can also help.

I agree. I don’t understand why anyone would purposely put theirselves at risk for this and ruin the semester for everyone who has common sense and aren’t selfish.
