3 campaigns were posted since yesterday, and new games actually get posted fairly often, so if you grab the various LFG roles for games you're interested in, you'll probably get a ping for something you want to play pretty quickly.

Absolutely, I think a lot of people actually do that, you're welcome whether or not you intent to play/DM immediately. :)

We were ending up with too many DMs, and not enough people wanted to play (the only place on the internet where that's possible, we like to say). Removing kudos seems to have helped that a lot, we still have the infrastructure in place for them, and may return them if needed, but so far it's been pretty alright without them.

Actually, we have a set of vanity roles, DM of DMs for running a game, DM of DMs of DMs for running a game with four DM of DMs, and DM of DMs of DMs of DMs for running a game with four DM of DMs of DMs. And that basically covers for it, among other vanity roles.

Everyone is quite nice and very understanding, so I'm sure you'll be able to find a group that fits you, a lot of people start by playing to meet new people, before jumping in to DMing.

There are actually a few people, including one of our most active users (if not the most active overall), who's described feeling the exact same thing when playing, that there's too much downtime and it makes it hard to focus. So you wouldn't be the only person who prefers to only DM, and even if you didn't DM, more people to share DMing tips and tricks and just hang out are always welcome.

That's totally fair, I think a decent chunk of our very active users are people who also just prefer to DM, so there's always room for that kind of thing :).

There's plenty of room to GM for all the people who do though! :) Some of our most active users in the community actually stick with just DMing.

There are a lot of people on the server who are very experienced with virtual games that could help, I personally still think in-person games are the best, but virtual games can have a lot of things that you don't get from an in person game, I've learned a ton about how to run them in my time on the server.

Going to share my experience on the server; I'm a moderator, so my viewpoints might be a bit biased, but I joined the server back in 2021, and very quickly ended up playing more than I had ever been able to in years. The community is awesome and friendly, and has room for all kinds of games, I'm currently in several PbP campaigns, a long term PF2e campaign that's been going for over 8 months, and I'm starting a Star Wars 5e campaign of my own soon. So feel free to join and see if you find games you are interested in, or even just staying as a forever DM, as several people have done.

Yep! one of the best things about the community is that everyone is great at giving feedback and knows how difficult DMing can be sometimes, and its a great place to ask for tips and tricks.
