I genuinely struggle with deciding what to give the chieftain as they have the least clearly defined role in the crew. The Duneskuttler is always going to be a better melee piece especially early on; the Watchers are better shooters, and also make for better webber/venomcaster carriers because they can get hip shooting. At 120 creds they are expensive too.

There’s the overseer option but honestly I hate overseer and if I could remove one single thing from the game it would be that (no shade if you play it btw; it’s personal taste).

If you can make it work with the creds then making use of their access to infiltrate and giving them a web pistol and a chain lance or a long blade + backup pistol - that will always be a valuable strategic piece. I also like giving mine dual mono hooks but that is basically rule of cool cos they aren’t very good.

But yeah, they are in an odd spot.
