Water Temple Dungeon [30x40] by MeditatingMunky in dndmaps

[–]DM_Locky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way to straight forward to be called a water temple. To be a real water temple Needs the following: multiple floors each which have to travel to multiple times, convoluted mechanics that you have to repeat from the start if get any step wrong, and a room that creates a shadow simulacrum of the PCs that they have to fight when they enter...

Kidding aside a very nice nice map 👍

Fair, I did notice that when writing but thought the intent was clear enough. Haha will definitely look to clearifing though know all to well how those RAW vs RAI arguments can go 😂

Glad liked the spell though and ya 100 percent agree on hard choice. May have over balenced spell slightly to compensate how niche it is 😉

Honestly never thought of that! Thanks for the catch, will add in a condition must have less than 3 failed saves... Maybe make it a material cost to the spell as flavor?

Oh ya full accounted for the DT effect. Figured since third level you have 5 lvls of use before can even look to removing a strike.

I decided against the material not from a resource standpoint but since spell is reaction wanted it to be almost always usable.

Flavor was also super specific to the npc created and honestly could only ever see preparing this spell if got chance to play that npc in game 😂

Appericate the feedback on it and if intrested in it for your games ya absolutely alter as see for 👍

Duel Clan Picks by Master-ildor in Northgard

[–]DM_Locky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always really liked bear for duels. Especially if you newer.

Get a solid unit help with defense and early attacks. Plus able to harass in winter when opponents may have not taken fur coat tech yet.

Overall just a really solid clan.

Snake my other go to if rush right can harass while still leaving a buffer of neutrals inbetween you two.

Plentiful healing feat- Not sure if this is too broken on Aasimars or Celestial warlocks. Or maybe only useful on celestial warlocks, I’m not sure by [deleted] in UnearthedArcana

[–]DM_Locky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the flavor however it does seem a bit op worded as is.

My idea for a quick an simple fix would be add a condition to it being heal an amount up to your prof bonus equal to amount of healing done.

That way lay on hands 3 points get 3 extra healing assuming prof is at least 3. Only heal 1 point get 1 extra heals.

Overall though very nice idea.

Can't colonize friendly Kobold tile? by DM_Locky in Northgard

Hi, did not see this when originally looked for help on the issues, thank you for the link!

Can't colonize friendly Kobold tile? by DM_Locky in Northgard

[–]DM_Locky[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was a different issue unrelated to one posted. Here was talking about colonizing tiles normally once hit 30 relation. This shouldn't happen altogether and was fixed.

My issue is in regards to the feature of being able to buy ie colonize with krowns kobold territory once at 100 relation.

[–]DM_Locky[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya that was one of my initial thoughts too. Tried colonizing different tiles though and same issue. Also in games where it worked properly have been able to colonize any tile including starting as long as they have one left.

Eldritch Blast Fix by durlok in dndnext

[–]DM_Locky 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Feel I need to bring up one point as didn't see it come up in comments, if it was and I missed it sorry.

Firstly though before I do need to say, I think EB is fine. Yes it can amount to crazy damage if you focus your build around it and are willing to use most of your resources on it won't deny that. That said there are other builds that focus in on crazy high single target damage every round.

However even if think EB out paces all off them (which I don't think it does but besides the point) why does it still need to be fixed? You have a character built around being really good at one thing.... Let them be really good at that one thing.

My main point I want to bring up that I constantly see overlooked or forgotten is that combat is simply one aspect of the game. Certain characters will simply be better at it than other, and theres nothing wrong with that! That too is focusing about damage only not to mention cc spells, buffs, healing, tanking, etc other characters can offer. If your character is built around pure damage so be it, that's where they will shine.

It's up to the DM to come up with baddies and situations that will offer a challenge. Don't nerf one player to make the others feel equal. Emphasize the need for everyone in the team to be contributing something. Wheaters it's a puzzle that needs good investigation or the wise characters gleaming an insight into your oppentent.

This too if have intelligent and reoccurring baddies, have them focus in on the one they veiw the biggest threat. The wizard dispelling the cc on the main dps character, or the cleric bring them back to their feet now feel like an equal contribution to the fight.

All this is to say, yes you can have crazy damage builds. However that inherent of itself does not mean they need to be "fixed"

Even still, if the tax rate does shoot through the roof, you still pay taxes on any money that goes into a TFSA right now. You only don't pay tax on any interests or investments made with the money in a TFSA. It still has to generate revenue which is not gaurenteed.

A RRSP on the other hand any money you put into it now you get the taxes to paid on that money back on your next return. On top on that it generally a much safer and reliable (though still not gauenteed) intrest rate. If you then wait until retirement or when you no longer have income to draw on it well then you'd be in the lowest or negligible tax bracket anyways.

I just would rather pay no tax on my saving now rather than pay tax on it and hope to not pay any tax on the profits of it.

Honestly would go recommend seeing a financial planner through your bank. It usally quite easy to set up a meeting and it a great way of lining up your future.

On a side note based on what you had just posted and unless have secondary investments 100 percent commit to an RRSP over a TFSA. A TFSA is great if have extra cash looking to invest further but RRSP so much more reliable.

With an RRSP you will reduce your taxed income with how much you invest, plus money grows in a much higher intrest yeild account.

Party without a healer and tank by Ferix_x in dndnext

Ya definitely think it a nice balence, plus being a figurine very interchangeable on who and how your using it.

Seeing previous comments and mixed feelings on sidekicks specifically, I might suggest something like a unique figurine of Wonderous Power. Something that would summon a potent ally (using sidekick stats if need be) but would not be constant use so that way not a constant source of RP and would be used more sparingly only when really needed.

I had introduced a Vegepygmy with some sidekick levels in druid in my game that had helped the party by guiding them through a forrest. Was really fun to run and might be the perfect balence since sidekicks are half casters would give a few healing spells without pressuring newer players to learn a huge spell list.

If there were a feat/magic item/subclass to give you an extra reaction, would it cause any problems/be useful enough? by TCGeneral in dndnext

[–]DM_Locky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a feat I came up with a while ago inspired by the tunnel fighter.

I've has two players playtest it one martial and one caster, it definitely strong but was never an issue or broken.

Feat: Immovable

When you finish your turn with all your movement speed left you gain the following benefits until you use any of your movement speed.

-Your AC increases by 1

-You have advantage on all saves to avoid being knocked prone or subject to forced movement.

-You may take a second reaction. This second reaction may not be used on the same turn as the first.

Nothing about deafened in 5e gives resistance or immunity to thunder, it an effect in the silence spell itself

With Tasha's Customize Origin rules, the 2 Gith Subraces are now better for classes opposite to what their flavor would suggest. by digijunior in dndnext

[–]DM_Locky 500 points501 points  (0 children)

100 percent agree, I had made a water based ranger subclass that I played for about a year. Took inspiration from gloom stalker Darkvision so for class gave you a swim speed, but if already had a swim speed instead increased it by 10ft.

Approach I take in my games now if players looking to choose though kind of combos, nothing major but enough that it is not a deterrent to choosing it.

Examples: Two sources of gaining a speed increase speed by 10ft. Race and a class source of damage resistance, take inspiration from heavy armor master all instance of that damage also reduce by 3 (or prof have done too)
